Rating: *****
It has been two years since Percy Jackson was first introduced to the Greek world and this time Percy starts off his adventure with a small quest to escort two half-bloods to camp with the help of some of his friends. It isn’t too long before the quest goes sideways after an encounter with the Manticore and the Hunters of Artemis. Things go terribly wrong and Annabeth ends getting kidnapped. Once he arrives back at camp it isn’t too long before Percy finds himself on another cross-country trip, and this time he doesn't have Annabeth by his side.
The Titan’s Curse is the third installment of the Percy Jackson series and this time Rick Riordan spends no time waiting around. Unlike the previous two books the readers are immediately thrust into the action. Riordan continues the theme of throwing all kinds of relatable humor into Percy’s character. Riordan also continues to make every quest personal to Percy by endangering people who are close to him and in turn hooking the reader with the stakes of every journey. Overall The Titan’s Curse lives up to both its predecessors and once again readers are surrounded by action and witty humor as they are introduced to more elaborate and fun Greek myths and monsters.
