The Woods by Vanessa Savage is a fast passed murder mystery. Tess is all grown up now, but the summer when she 16, she and her sister decided to venture into the woods. Only Tess came out. Now a teacher, Tess grapples with the past- for she cannot remember what happened in the woods that dreadful night. Suddenly, she is called back to her family home, and must face the truth.

I absolutely loved this novel, and its sense of mystery on every page. It was exciting to watch Tess try and solve the mystery of her sister's death, and there were many shocking twists sprinkled throughout the story. The relationships between the characters were superb, and Savage crafted this story so that the end was not predictable by even the most devout reader. The Woods is a must read for lover's of murder mysteries.
