As you walk up the stairs you see Haden and Drue standing there looking around somewhat in a daze.
"Haden!," Talik shouts and she runs up to greet her. "Where did you go?.. How did you get here? You go up to Drue, punch him in the bicep saying, "Its like you never left!" He rubs his upper arm playfully and smiles at you, "Now I wish I didn't come back. How did we get here Haden?" He asks. "We weren't even in a tower and suddenly we are transported here."
"I was on an island in Vay, alone looking for all of you." Haden recalls. "It spent days trying to get back to the tower thinking that you might still be there. I even had to eat some reptile that didn't taste so good when I couldn't rustle up any berries or fruit I could recognise."
"You should have been abandoned with me, I would set you straight. Some of the Bretna trees on Vay produce very sweet flesh around a large black pit, though it is hard to open without a knife, but you always have that covered." Alster says brightly, very happy to see his comrade again.
"Our powers grow and we can bring or send you anywhere in Solea with 200 meters of a tower or shrine, but we can feel the energy flow increasing beyond our ability to hold it." We have brought you all you need to complete your quest. Now the five of you must deliver the scroll and stop the witch."
"Uhm, I think I missed something here...I know about the scroll but who is the witch?" Haden says as she tries to find her bearings.
"I was with you all then suddenly I was in an underground cavern. I had to spend hours finding my way out and then I had no griffon to carry me. I appeared somewhere near the Crystalline Forest that we had all been too." Drue was eager to explain his absence and you get the feeling that he felt guilty about something that was completely out of his control."
"Don't worry, Talik and I will catch you up." The most important thing now is that you are here and safe." You say to your friends. "For now there is one more level to the top and the last one there is a smelly Wakku."
"So mature!" Haden smiles and lets you run off. She runs her hand along the polished stone. She is silent and her eyes are downcast as she walks ever upward. You had run off but slow to a walk then break the quiet repetition of feet scuffing stone on stairs when you look back and see Haden in this way. "What deep thoughts you have", you say to prompt her into sharing. "Was it the teleportation? Are you ok?"
"I was just thinking of my journey to becoming a warrior under Daeson's guidance, it was filled with trials, laughter, and invaluable lessons." She explained it all on the walk up. Daeson took her on her first hunt deep into the Windy Woods, where they tracked a wild boar through dense underbrush and silent glades. Haden remembered the thrill of the chase, the way her heart pounded as they closed in on their prey. Daeson, ever the mentor, whispered jokes to lighten the tension, his deep voice rumbling with humor. They laughed about the time Haden tripped over a root and startled a flock of birds, their flapping wings echoing her surprise.
One moonless night, they found themselves lost after Haden misplaced her flint. Daeson turned the mishap into a lesson, showing her how to navigate by the stars and the rustle of leaves in the wind. Hours later, he revealed a spare flint tucked in his boot, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes. He taught her to tie knots that wouldn't slip, to devise battle strategies, and to know when to strike and when to retreat. Every lesson was a building block, shaping her into the warrior she would become.
Looking back, Haden felt a deep nostalgia for those nights in the Whispering Woods and the plentiful Morian hunting grounds, for the sense of camaraderie and the excitement of her coming of age. Those were her greatest tests, the moments that forged her spirit and prepared her for the challenges ahead.
