"In the heart of the realm lies the Crystal Exchange — a place where power and greed collide."
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Kath, beneath the shadow of the Kath Academy and along the glowing lava-fed canals of Mount Zaeka, the Crystal Exchange rose to prominence as the most vital economic hub in all of Karaz. Originally established by elemental scholars and traders seeking a stable system for magical resource flow, the KCE quickly evolved into a marketplace of immense strategic power. With Mages, Guardians, and Healers trading infused crystals at fluctuating values, it became a center not only of commerce but of cunning. As technological advancement surged in the city’s golden age, the Exchange formalized its systems and grew alongside the schools of elemental magic. Today, its price fluctuations ripple across the entire Solean economy — and every young adventurer dreams of catching the market at just the right moment.
The Crystal Exchange is a magical marketplace based in the city of Kath in the Solean Archipelago, where players may sell their hard earned mana Crystals for Gold Pieces or stash regular market crystals in a vault to cash out later at high prices.
But beware: selling mana crystals may weaken your magical power. The decision is yours.
Trade 1 of your current mana crystals (from your inventory) for GP at today’s market rate.
Your usable crystals power your spells so selling them means giving up strength for wealth.
Market rates change daily, so smart adventurers watch the trend before selling.
Mana Crystals you don’t use can be saved by simply not spending them.
When you’re ready, you can use the Cash Out Vault button to exchange your entire Vault for GP.
Vaulted crystals can’t be used in battle or for spells and powers. Once they’re stored, they’re locked until cashout for GP
Buying Market Crystals vs. Mana Crystals
When you purchase a crystal from the market it is stored in your vault and is part of the core of the crystal market economy. The value they hold is always dictated by the market rate so your stash may rise or fall. The crystals you purchase are not mana crystals and can never be used for powers. If you need a mana crystal for power you can purchase a Crystal in a Bag through the Caveat Emptor.
The market rate for crystals rises and falls slightly each day.
Once in a while... there’s a crash, or a golden spike
Every morning, the daily rate is posted. Plan accordingly. Some players sell low out of fear. Others wait for the boom.
Red Crystals are the rumoured power source of the powerful time mage. They are clear energy crystals charged by the etheira trees holding their power which turns the crystal its distinct red colour. They can only contain their immense energy for a few weeks but in their energised state they are highly sought after. Only a limited number of Red Crystals of Eldonia have every been found exacerbating their value. After the energy drains they return to their natural clear state and lose much of their valuation.
Red Crystals are a rare and powerful form of currency in the Kath Crystal Exchange. Only 50 known Red Crystals exist in the entire Classcraft world at any one time.
Due to their rarity the KCE has placed rules on holding them. Each player can hold a maximum of only 5.
Red Crystals lose their power after 14 days, automatically converting into standard Vaulted Crystals (you may lose value if you don’t trade them in time!).
Prices change daily based on supply and demand:
The fewer Red Crystals available, the higher the price.
The more players sell, the lower the price drops.
Red Crystal pricing is tied to the normal crystal rate, but due to their fleeting power their price has much greater volatility.
A 10 GP fee applies to each buy or sell transaction.
Use them wisely — they’re valuable but fleeting.
"Some see value in what rises. Others profit when it falls."

In the heart of the Kath Crystal Exchange, a rare power has emerged: the ability to short sell Green Crystals — a high-risk, high-reward maneuver for only the bravest of market watchers.
When you Short Sell a Green Crystal, you’re betting that the crystal index will drop tomorrow.
You lock in today’s rate and wait.
At dawn, if the market has fallen, you earn Gold Pieces (GP) based on the difference.
If the market rises, you lose GP instead.
Key Rules for Green Crystal Shorts:
You may only short one Green Crystal per day.
No GP is required up front — the risk is in the outcome.
Gains or losses are magnified ×10, making every rate shift matter.
All trades are automatically settled at the next sunrise.
Will you see the storm before it breaks? Or fall with the tide?
By crystals when the price is low
Sell crystals when the rate is high
Watch the prices and follow the trends
Pay attention to dates as red crystals expire and become vaulted blue.
Only the Crystal in a Bag is useable as power all others are tokens for the economy
Buy a Treasury Bill to get a guaranteed return regardless of the market swings and changes.
Keep your money in the bank to avoid tax and gain interest.
Every decision costs something. Choose wisely and remember you will need usable Crystals for power at the end of the year as well as GP for the Great Auction.
