The bottom floor of the tower is dark, but the sprites shine around you like colored stars, and giant crystals spear through the earth like great bolts of lightning. The air is thick with an eerie, almost mystical energy that makes your skin prickle.
Ever hopeful, Tharah approaches the sprites, explaining that the boy of light from above sent you here and that you mean no harm to them or their home. Some of the Alta Sprites hang back, their luminous bodies flickering with uncertainty, but others drift closer to Tharah, making her smile.
"Tharah, wait a moment," Haden calls out, his voice echoing slightly in the vast, dark space. "We need to be cautious."
Tharah glances back at him but continues to move forward, the sprites guiding her along a narrow path toward a circle of light off to the side. She seems entranced by their soft, pulsing glow.
Alster, ever the skeptic, mutters, "This is just like her, always running off without thinking. She is like a kitten following a ball of yarn? She nearly got us all trapped in that last room."
"Yeah," Talik adds with a smirk, "and don't forget that you were once young too! Anyway we were able to dodge the death inducing boulders falling from the roof."
You chuckle, trying to keep the mood light despite the growing sense of unease. "True, but she has a knack for finding the right path, even if it's not the safest one."
"But what if these sprites are dangerous?" Haden says, his voice tinged with worry. "We know nothing about them. For all we know, they could be leading us into a trap."
Alster nods. "And the boy of light... Are we even sure we can trust his directions? He might have been sending us to our doom."
Talik shrugs. "Well, we didn't exactly have many options. It's not like we can just stroll out of here without any guidance. Plus, Tharah seems to trust them, and she's usually right about these things."
"Usually," you emphasize, trying to balance the humour with the gravity of the situation. "But still, we need to be careful. Tharah, slow down!"
But Tharah isn't listening, and you have no choice but to follow or risk losing her in the darkness. You quicken your pace, the sprites' light flickering around you like a surreal, colourful dance.
Just as you step a foot inside the circle of light, a blinding flash engulfs the tower, and everything around you disappears. Your vision swims, and for a moment, it feels as if you are floating in a void of pure light.
As the light subsides, you find yourself standing in a different part of the tower. The Alta Sprites are still around, their lights dimmer now but still present. Tharah stands nearby, looking slightly disoriented but otherwise unharmed.
"See?" she says with a confident smile. "They just wanted to show us the way."
Haden shakes his head, though he can't help but smile back. "You really need to stop running off like that, Tharah. One of these days, it's going to get us all into serious trouble."
Alster claps Haden on the shoulder. "Relax, we made it through, didn’t we? Besides, it's never dull with Tharah around."
Talik laughs, her eyes twinkling. "That's for sure. But next time, Tharah, maybe wait for us before charging ahead?"
Tharah nods, her smile turning sheepish. "I'll try. But sometimes, you just have to take a leap of faith."
"Well as long as we don't leap to our death, I am fine with anything." you state to make your point about following a 6 year old, or was she 7?
The glow of the crystals was bright in this story but crystals aren't a source of light. In your own words describe the properties of a crystal in the Thy Quests below. Use previous episodes or this link for your research. Crystal Properties
