The Second Sibling

Just moments ago you were standing in the Sprite Underground. Now, temporarily disoriented— you're not sure where you are. You kneel to gain balance and cling to the feeling of solid ground beneath you as the world slowly comes back into focus.

Two eyes, bright and piercing suddenly appear and stare down at you. You look up and see a girl standing before you, as tall as a tower and made completely of light.

Alster gasps at the size of the figure of light, "She must be his older sister I guess," he said looking her up and down.  Haden looks around. Elder Tharah, Kiva, and the others — they're all with you and she breathes a sigh of relief. You are all still a little discombobulated by your experience but Tharah is already on the move and walking up to the figure.

"You're the boy's sister!" Tharah says.

"Yes." The girl of light kneels down to face you. "Welcome to Karaz Island, little heroes. I see there are mages with you. They will be pleased to know they are close to home on the west side of the volcano. I know how you helped my brother, he told me of your good works and how you restored his sight with full flow of power. Thanks to all of you, my tower is now awake too."

"Karaz, we're home." you thought, "Well that sure beat sailing from Verdant Beach."  Your mind switches to what else the girl had said. Her brother the boy of light is fully restored? If you're here, that means you have restored the tower to full capacity. You reflect on everything that's happened — helping Richalt and his sprite Ivy in the mountains, following the map of the stars into Verdalia, reviving the etheria trees, stopping the earthquakes with Tharah and all so that these towers which were shut down can function again. But what purpose do they serve? Are they just a transportation system? And who woke them up? 

You quiet your racing mind as best you can and meet the girl's eyes. What she's telling you is important. You need to pay attention.

"Your quest is just beginning," she says. "Move deeper into the tower. I have much to show you." 

"Did she say, 'just beginning'" you ask Talik, "does she realise all the stuff we have already done just to get here? I think since we are back on Karaz we should pop into mom's and have a nice meal, sleep till noon, walk in the markets maybe even a day trip to the Roka Forests? What do you say?" Talik smiles, you can tell by the way her ears move back. It makes you think that when you become a full fledged mage you might just break with tradition and not even wear a mask. You mean, you know it is for protection but most of it is tradition and you have to take it off to eat and bath anyway so ...." Your thoughts were interrupted by a flash of light as the sister disappears. 

"What did she say?" You ask Talik. Haden jumps in, "She left, but she told us to go down the tower, so I guess we are on the top floor." She looked around and saw a stairwell, "Must be this way!" And just like that you were on an even bigger adventure, you just hoped that there would be time to stop by home, at least for an ice tea? You mean, you are all so close right now.
