BANK OF MORIAN
Decree of the Bank of Morian
As issued by the Guardian Bank of Morian, under seal of the Crystal Exchange and with approval from the High Ledger of Kath
Hear ye, Adventurers of the Realm!
A new age of commerce dawns upon Classcraft. Henceforth, all brave souls may entrust their Gold Pieces (GP) to the venerable Bank of Morian, where wealth may be stowed, grown, or borrowed in accordance with the Financial Laws of Solea.
Those who choose prudence over plunder may deposit their GP into the Bank. Shouldst thou increase thy holdings in a given moon-cycle, the bank shall reward thy wisdom with interest of 5%, compounded monthly. This bounty is bestowed only upon the diligent—only if thy deposit exceeds the prior month’s balance do you recieve a reward. Sloth bears no yield.
Note: Interest shall be tallied on the last day of each month and inscribed under “Monthly Interest (Prudent Saver Reward)” in the Book of Balances.
Should thee fall below zero in GP, the bank—ever watchful—shall extend an emergency loan up to 1,000 GP, entered into thine “Overdraft Ledger.” Yet beware! This mercy is no gift:
🪙Interest is compounded weekly at a perilous rate of 21%.
🪙The debt shall swell swiftly if unpaid, and shall be displayed openly under "Total Owed."
🪙A timer begins at first deficit: miss your repayment window and suffer the Sanctions of the Ledger.
Failure to resolve one’s debts may incur grave penalties, including but not limited to:
🪙Loss of Heart Health
🪙Forced sale of Vaulted Crystals
🪙Forfeiture of XP
These measures are enforced by decree of the High Broker of Kath.
Gold withdrawn from the bank returns immediately to thy purse, but take heed: if this causes a net reduction from last month’s holdings, no interest shall be granted during the next reckoning.
🪙Deposit Interest: 5% monthly (only if total increases)
🪙Overdraft Limit: –1,000 GP
🪙Loan Interest: 21% weekly, compounding
🪙Penalties: Health, Crystals, or XP loss for non-repayment
🪙 Withdrawals: No interest if your balance shrinks that month
Let all heroes be wise with their coin, for the markets of Morian remember all. Whether you invest, hoard, or borrow—every choice echoes in the Hall of Ledgers.
“A gold wisely saved is a blade that strikes twice.”
Adventurers, take heed! Any Gold Pieces (GP) not secured within the vaults of the Bank of Morian may be subject to taxation, should you be caught in a Random Event of the Day.
These taxes are not theft, but a summons from the High Council of Solea, levied in the name of island development. Roads must be paved through the Whispering Woods, the protective wards around the Ruined Lands must be renewed, and bridges must span the rising rivers of Karaz.
“Infrastructure is the silent blade that keeps the realm standing,” as Mister Minz would say.
Thus, those who hoard GP in hand rather than entrusting it to the Bank risk involuntary contribution to the greater good. The only safeguard is to deposit your wealth in the living vaults of Ridoan — where it shall be protected, grown, and respected.
Tip: Only banked GP is immune from taxation events!
