E6Q2 Silent Tomb
Leaving the twisting vines behind you, you face the interior of the Voek Tower. Your breath catches in your throat. The room is crawling with corruption. Unstable lava trickles down the walls, and many sprites drift about, dazed "They must be trying to survive in here somewhat protected from the corruption." Talik surmises. Haden is sitting head bowed between her knees breathing hard. "How much time do you think we have before we, too, feel the corruption's effects?" Alster responded timidly and you got the feeling he wasn't confident, "That we don't know but looking around here it seems that there is at least some protection in the tower, we should go up and see if the air is any better higher up."
Before you begin your ascent, you take in the haunting beauty and eerie atmosphere of the tower. You have heard of murals of animals that once adorned the walls in vibrant colours but expect them to now be obscured by corrupted moss and ancient growth. The stone stairs, winding upward through the tower, seem to beckon you forward, away from the danger that lies around the tower. There is a crack running up the tower's interior serving as a constant reminder of the destructive forces at play, and light blue obsidian glistens ominously in the dim light.
Haden, Talik, Alster, and you exchange a determined glance, steeling yourselves for the journey to the top. Alster takes the oppportunity to hand out something horrid and dried saying, "This will give you some substance." Sometimes you wonder how deep his pouch is and what it must smell like in there. You ask, "Is it food or medicine? He responds with a comical "Yes!" and you just know that means its going to be hideously disgusting and probably tingle in your mouth, but unsurprisingly it did make you feel a little less tired and hungry and also grateful that Alster was with you.
You had walked almost all the way around the tower on your way here and had seen the tower from the outside from many angles. The tower had thiner sections of wall where blue obsidian glass acted as a type of koidescopeic window but there were no openings. The top of the tower was flat and you thought must have been for some sort of ceremonial purpose. The knowledge that at the summit lies a platform with a view of all Morian Island and fresh air was your focus at the moment but you hoped there would also be a rumoured obsidian pedestal that now that you have a memory shard in the form of a crystal flower might be a way forward. Together, you step spiral up, ready to face whatever challenges the Voek Tower holds, hoping to uncover its secrets and perhaps find a way to combat the corruption that threatens to consume you all.
"Looks like those stairs are the only way up from here," Haden says. The Guardian seems to have regained some of her energy now, 'thanks Alster', but her expression seems concerned. Maybe she's wondering the same thing you are: If the tower has fallen to the corruption, is the sibling of light even here?
Together you move toward the staircase. Haden takes out the crystal flower you found at the shrine, cradling it in her hands.
"There's still hope yet," Talik says. The mage smiles and squeezes Haden's shoulder. "Come on, let's get going." Before you move on you feel you should consult the Tome of Knowledge to prepare yourself and the others for what may lie ahead. You look up the Voek Tower of Morian Island and read up on this awesome place.
Answer the question, how tall is the tower in Thy Quests to move forward in your quest.
