Drue looks carefully at the crystal you gave him and says this has some interesting details about my people but it is not the Vay origin crystal I seek for Solea.
Disappointed you walk back out to the ruins of Ky's hut and look around. You remember in the Tome a clue about the location of a hidden crystal and point it out to Maeka. "Well done young mage, you have an eye for detail. You are onto something there. Everyone try to find the outline of the hut and when you do look at the righthand side foundations for a clay pot. If it is really there then we may have a crystal that was once in the hand of Ky. After some searching Alster found the edge of the building and followed it to the approximate location of the pot according to the sketch," You know it was just an artists impression, it may not even exist" he says as he starts digging.
You respond with, "well now we know the hut is real this may as well be too!" Aslter seems taken aback and freezes for a moment. "Hey, there... there is something here." He digs around the lid of a some sort of pot and wiggles the lid off. Inside is a small crystal. You gather around what must be a memory shard, peering into its crystal surface. It glows in response, humming softly, and an image suddenly fills all of your minds.
A young mage woman stands before a magenta-leaved tree, its branches drooping around her almost protectively. Moonlight shines from above, casting her in a pale glow as she reaches out to lay the some crystals in a pattern at the base of the tree.
The image crumbles in your mind fast as sand, and you and your companions stand back, bewildered.
"What was that?" you ask. Was that a vision or—
"That was Ky." Maeka grips the memory shard. "She looks different from her statue in Kath, but it's her — I could feel it."
"It was a memory," Drue says.
Maeka continues, "That tree had a message written on its bark. It was not written in a text we use in Kath. I think it was from Atlantis or an ancient culture. Every Mage knows the Yauka Tree and how it can hold or send a message or memory! The tree and language are as old as the island itself, and it is right here in Roka Forest."
"Then that's what we must do, interpret the message and then to the tree we must go," Drue says. "Bandits or no, we must press on."
You ponder the memory and its clear message. Could whatever Ky was sending to the tree be the "key" her ancient message was referring to?
This is the message left to you by Ky in the tree. What ancient knowledge is it trying to tell you? I believe there was a key to decipher this in the Tome of Knowledge..If you have trouble finding it ask Mr. Watts. Enter your translation in Thy Quests.
