You quickly fly north to the newly sighted island there and find a second island sanctuary — this one obvious before you land. It is of uniquely Mage design. You point to mage architecture when you get Talik's attention and she nods knowingly from the back of her griffon. Drue must have been feeling confident about the island being safe and similarly abandoned as he didn't circle this time but rather lead us straight in for a landing near a simple village of Karazian style. When you arrive at the second island Alster, Haden, Talik, Drue, you and your riders all fly directly into the village and dismount in the middle of the circle shaped building. The large circular space is surrounded by the grand, circular building and another main hall at the far end of the open space.
You head inside the largest building, entering a massive, dimly lit workshop. It reminds you of the academy back in Kath, where you used to have classes and spent many an afternoon tinkering with tools and magic to invent and problem solve the tasks given you by Maeka on your home island.
A sprite blinks to life — then another and then hide in orbs of paper their fire steady illumination for the room. Together they light up the room like floating lanterns.
The light entices Talik to enter completely and it ushers her deeper into the back of the workshop. As the Mage steps closer, the fire elementals unveil a secret message — burning in white flame on the far wall. Talik looks at it deeply for a long moment, "This is in Ky's handwriting!" She says, "I recognise it from the book in the glass case in the Library of the Arcanum.
Talik reads the message, voice trembling: "To the Mages who circle round me, follow in my footsteps. Know that for all my powers squared, I'm afraid of what comes next. You too must look beyond what you know of the physical world to see new possibilities. And remember, fear not pressure for just as pressure turns coal to crystal you are to make diamonds from coal."
"This is amazing though I have no idea what it means," Talik continues to read, "Trust your companions. The Guardians will help you slow down and act when it matters most so you can make the right decisions. Remember also the Healers. Their connection to the sprites and ability to feel what's unseen will guide you when you're unsure where to go. Lastly, trust your fellow mages as they will evoke a sprite or power based on the moment and it will be right. "
As she reads the final word aloud, the flames snuff out. Runes burst into light around the room leaving marks as purple and bright as lava.
As you leave the room and make your way outside you look up to the sky. A powerful storm brews in dark clouds.
"We should get back to the last new island in the north of main islands before that thing hits," Drue directs us. And with that you are on your griffons again.
