You've explored the tower before, so you have a good sense of where you're going and with the clues from the boy you were confident about finding the path down. Tharah, on the other hand, is fascinated by everything. She peers around her in wonder. She reminds you of Alster as he wonders around mountain passes fascinated by the tiniest moss or flower bud.
The last time you were here, you encountered a locked door. Which Alster opened because he is a genius. It might be the way the boy wants you to go through. Your hunch proves right. The door stands open this time, sorry Alster no string to pull, and you see it as an invitation to explore the rest of the tower. You pass through and step onto a bridge of stones that float in the air but do not waiver. They are as strong as any steps you have used before.
Your breath catches in your throat. An enormous crystal grows at the tower's center. Tree roots are entwined with the crystal so closely it's unclear where one begins and the other ends. This room must be located perpendicular to and beneath the tree you saw when you first visited.
"The crystal," Alster says. "It's glowing just like the one in the library. They really are connected, just like you said, Tharah."
You can't help but notice, too, how different the tower looks here. The walls are crumbled in places, ravaged by time, unlike the pristine upper regions you explored before.
Tharah's expression turns sour as she watches the crystal pulse. "Something feels off. Let's get closer."
