You leave the river of lava behind you and step into the next room. Suspended in the air is an enormous crystal, bigger than any you've ever seen, even on Elda Island! And yes you do mean the time crystal in the middle of the Alta Etheria tree in the Library of the Arcanum, 'that big'. Sprites hover around it, drawn to its radiant light as it was seeming to grow in energy and radiance.
"The towers," Tharah says excitedly as the girl materializes beside you. "They're connected, aren't they?"
"Yes," the girl says. "Crystals contain energy — ether, power and memory. Since you restored the tower on the Healers' island, my siblings and I are stronger. We remember more about the past."
She floats closer to Tharah, who reaches a hand out toward a sprite in greeting. "The sprites have always lived with us," the girl says, "but we couldn't always see them. They existed on a different spectrum of light. The Voek found a way to change their energy waves and make them visible." She smiles, and you smile back. "Like with me."
"That's incredible," Alster and Tharah say at once, both Healers surprised. You've all lived among sprites your entire life, and so have your parents and grandparents. You can't imagine a time when they weren't a part of your visible world!
The girl frowns sadly. "Yes. But there's something else. Something you need to see."
She disappears again, but you're already racing ahead, heart pounding in anticipation for whatever secrets she'll show you next.
You couldn't see many of the sprites before because they exist on a different spectrum of light. How much light can the human eye actually see? Research and submit your answer in Thy Quests below.
