You wake the next morning feeling remarkably better, with less pain and reduced swelling around your ankle. You rise, finding you can even put some weight on your foot and have some mobility. You walk over to your griffon, stroke it in thanks, and it seems to understand. Gathering your things, you break camp as the famous easterly morning winds of the Islands of Vay pick up, seeing it as a sign for your next step.
You mount your griffon gingerly, carful not to put weight on your ankle and ride the winds high into the air. For the next few hours, you and your tiring griffon are buffeted and bounced around by inexperience and prevailing headwinds. Exhausted, you give up and turn the griffon back towards Vay. The return flight is short with the wind at your tail, pushing you north towards the falls of Cloud Lake. Something catches your attention—a flash of blue light coming from the base of the arched stone bridge that crosses Cloud Falls on its western bank. Surely, it's a signal? The light repeats, prompting you to descend and investigate.
As you get closer, you make out the light's source—a figure of a healer. "Oh, please be Alster!" you think before thinking, which other healer would be on Vay right now, of course it must be him. The pain in your leg is returning, and you desperately want respite. You land and hobble over to embrace Alster, who appears just as confused about his sudden teleportation to this random place as you were. He tells you about his experience over the last day without food and sleep, wondering if he should search for you or stay put. He finishes with, "Its good to see you." Before saying, "Now lets have a look at that ankle of yours."
Alster reaches into his satchel and pulls out a blue crystal, which he holds over your hands until it evaporates. He then removes your shoe, rolls up your pant leg, and wraps his warm hands around your injured ankle. The glow moves from his hands to your ankle turning into an almost plant like material then fades into your skin. You feel instant relief and inquire about how he did that.
"It's not only Mages who know a few tricks, you know," he says with a smile. "Healers have their own skills."
Most of all, you are glad you are no longer alone on these islands. With Alster by your side, you both begin to plan your next steps.
