L'Union Neuchâtel Basket è stata fondata nel 1959 con il nome di UCN (Union Christian Neuchâteloise) ed è diventata il club di punta della città all'inizio degli anni 80
È stato promosso in Ligue A nel 1991 raggiungendo le semifinali per il titolo la stagione successiva.
Nella stagione 1994-95 ha partecipato alla Coppa Korac poi, dopo alcuni anni in seconda divisione, la squadra è tornata nel massimo campionato nel 2012.
Questo ritorno nell'elite è stato rapidamente segnato dal primo titolo nella storia del club: la Coppa di Svizzera nel 2013, sconfiggendo la squadra ticinese del SAM Massagno.
Il periodo vincente è proseguito nel 2014 quando ha vinto la Coupe de la Ligue contro i Lions di Ginevra.
Nel 2015 e nel 2016, l'Union è diventata vicecampione della Svizzera ed è stata finalista alla Coupe de la Ligue nel 2019.
E’ ormai parte dell'élite del basket svizzero restando regolarmente tra le prime quattro squadre del campionato.
La squadra disputa le partite casalinghe presso La Riveraine, che ha una capienza di circa 2.500 posti a sedere.

Union Neuchâtel Basket was founded in 1959 under the name of UCN (Union Christian Neuchâteloise) and became the city’s leading club in the early 80’s
It was promoted to Ligue A in 1991 reaching the semi-finals for the title the following season.
In the 1994-95 season he competed in the Korac Cup then, after a few years in the second division, the team returned to the top league in 2012.
This return to the elite was quickly marked by the first title in the club’s history: the Swiss Cup in 2013, defeating the Ticino team of SAM Massagno.
The winning period continued in 2014 when he won the Coupe de la Ligue against the Lions of Geneve.
In 2015 and 2016, Union became Swiss Vice-champion and was a finalist at the Coupe de la Ligue in 2019.
It is a part of the Swiss basketball elite and regularly ranks among the top four teams in the championship.
The team plays its home games at La Riveraine, which has a capacity of about 2.500 seats.
