Lo Chorale Roanne Basket è il club di pallacanestro della città di Roanne.
È stato fondato nel 1937 e gioca all'Halle André Vacheresse (5.000 posti) e attualmente, disputa la Pro A, massima divisione del campionato francese.
Nel 1932 il coro del quartiere di Mulsant cominciò a diversificare le sue attività con la creazione di una sezione sportiva. All'inizio si praticava soprattutto il ciclismo, ma nel 1937 su impulso di Henri Rhodamel nasce il settore del basket.
I risultati giungono in pochi anni: nel 1941 lo Chorale raggiunge le semifinali della coppa nazionale. Rimane sempre nell'élite del basket francese e nel 1959 vince il campionato.
Il livello sempre più alto delle altre squadre impedisce però alla società della piccola cittadina di competere ad armi pari e ogni anno e pur rimanendo in prima divisione non riesce più a raggiungere traguardi significativi.
L'ultimo acuto di questa fase arriva nel 1964 quando disputa la finale di coppa di Francia in cui deve arrendersi al Le Mans.
La squadra è sempre in lotta per le ultime posizioni e nel 1967 non riesce ad evitare la retrocessione. Appena due anni più tardi riesce a tornare nel massimo campionato e nei primi anni '70 c'è la prima partecipazione europea, in coppa Korac.
Nel 1976 è di nuovo seconda divisione in cui resterà fino al 1987 fatta eccezione per una stagione ad inizio anni '80.
Dopo la rivoluzione dei campionati professionistici si ritrova nella stagione 1993-94 a disputare il campionato di Pro B e fra alterne fortune ci resta fino al 2002 quando centra la promozione nella massima serie.
La svolta arriva con l'allenatore Jean Denys Choulet che guida la squadra dal 2000 e la riporta ai massimi livelli. Lo Chorale riesce a stabilizzarsi in Pro A e nel 2006-07 nonostante il suo budget sia uno dei più bassi della lega conquista il secondo titolo nazionale e la Semaine des As.

Chorale Roanne Basket is the basketball team of Roanne, a town in the central part of France.
It was founded in 1937, plays the home games in Halle André Vachesse (5.000 places) and actually takes part in the Pro A, the maximum French championship.
In 1932 the Mulsant district choir decided to vary its activities by creating a sport section.
In the beginning cyclism was the main choice but, in 1937, upon Henry Rhodamel efforts the basket team was founded.
After a few years the results came: in 1941 Chorale reaches the National Cup semifinals, remains in the French basketball elite and, in 1959, wins the Championship.
The competition level of most other teams becomes higher and higher and too much difficult to stand for Roanne small city team, therefore, even if remaining in the main national competition it is no more able to achieve significative goals.
The last result of this period comes in 1964, when the team is defeated by Le Mans in the French Cup final match.
Unfortunately, after a continous fight in the last positions, in 1967 comes an unavoidable downgrade but just a couple of years later Roanne succeed in returning in Pro A and in the early ’70s the first European appearance in Korac Cup arrives.
In 1976 the team falls again in the Second Division and will remain there until 1987, except for one season in the beginning of ‘80s.
After the professional championships revolution Roanne is compelled to join the Pro B from season 1993-94 and, through thick and thin, remains there until 2002 when it is promoted to the maximum division.
Up year 2000 there is a strong turn with the arrival of the new coach Jean Denys Choulet, who leads the team to the top level: Chorale Roanne keeps a fix position in Pro A and, despite one of the lowest budgets in the league, in 2006-07 wins its second Championship and the Semaine des As.
