La società Juvecaserta nasce nel 1951, ad opera di un gruppo di appassionati locali. La denominazione Sporting Club Juventus fu opera di Santino Piccolo, grande tifoso della squadra di calcio torinese. All'inizio si giocava sui campi in terra battuta del Liceo classico Pietro Giannone di Caserta.
Nel 1971, l'imprenditore Giovanni Maggiò prese in mano la squadra improntando la società in senso professionistico e nel 1975 giunse in A2, retrocedendo però a fine anno: il ritorno in seconda serie avverrà nuovamente nel 1978.
Nella stagione 1979/80 arrivò lo sponsor, il giornale locale “Il Diario di Caserta” seguito tre anni dopo da un altro sponsor locale "Latte Matese". Nel frattempo giunse a Caserta, in sostituzione di Santino Piccolo il manager Giancarlo Sarti che creò il nucleo vincente della nuova gestione.

Juvecaserta was founded in 1951, by a group of local enthusiasts. The name Sporting Club Juventus was decided by Santino Piccolo, a great fan of the Turin football team. At the beginning the team played on the clay courts of the Liceo Classico Pietro Giannone in Caserta.
In 1971, the entrepreneur Giovanni Maggiò took over the team, marking the club in a professional way and in 1975 it arrived in A2, but relegated at the end of the year: the return in the second series will happen again in 1978.
In the 1979/80 season came the sponsor, the local newspaper "Il Diario di Caserta" followed three years later by another local sponsor "Latte Matese". In the meantime, manager Giancarlo Sarti arrived in Caserta, replacing Santino Piccolo, and creating the winning nucleus of the new management.

Nel 1982/83 arrivò uno sponsor importante, la Indesit e con i soldi il tecnico Bogdan Tanjevic anche ed il cecchino brasiliano Oscar Schmidt. La squadra arrivò seconda nella stagione regolare e partecipò per la prima volta ai play-off scudetto (allora il regolamento prevedeva la partecipazione ai play-off per le prime quattro di A2).
Nel 1983/84 all'esordio in A1 arrivò ottava e approdò nuovamente ai play-off. Nello stesso anno esordì in campo internazionale (Coppa Korac) ma soprattutto raggiunse la finale di Coppa Italia che segnò l'inizio di un periodo ad alti livelli ma che la fecero apparire agli occhi dei tifosi l'eterna incompiuta, sempre al secondo posto.
Nella stagione 1985/86, con lo sponsor Mobilgirgi arrivò alla finale di Coppa Korać che perse contro la Virtus Roma (sponsorizzata Banco di Roma) ed in finale scudetto, sconfitta dall'Olimpia Milano sponsorizzata Simac. Stesso copione l'anno successivo con Franco Marcelletti in panchina contro la Tracer Milano. Nella stagione successiva (1987/88) la Juvecaserta vinse il primo trofeo importante: la Coppa Italia, strappata alla storica squadra della Pallacanestro Varese.
In quell'annata si assiste ad un avvicendamento alla presidenza del club: al deceduto Giovanni Maggiò subentra il trentunenne figlio Gianfranco. Nel 1988/89, ad Atene la squadra è finalista di coppa delle Coppe contro il Real Madrid, venendo battuta dopo un tempo supplementare in uno scontro epico dove Oscar mette a segno 44 punti che non bastano di fronte ai 62 segnati da Drazen Petrovic. Finalista anche in coppa Italia, persa a favore della Virtus Bologna.
Nella stagione 1990/91 la Juvecaserta, sponsorizzata Phonola, si classificò seconda in campionato. Dopo aver eliminato Pesaro e la Virtus Bologna rispettivamente ai quarti ed in semifinale, ritrovò l'Olimpia Milano sponsorizzata Philips in finale scudetto. Milano si portò avanti 1-0 nella serie, poi Caserta impattò sull'1-1, ma Milano andò ancora avanti 2-1 salvo poi essere nuovamente raggiunta sul 2-2. Lo scudetto si decise quindi al termine di gara5, disputata il 21 maggio 1991 al Forum di Assago col pronostico a favore dei lombardi: la sfida si concluse col punteggio di 88-97 per i bianconeri, che festeggiarono il loro primo scudetto. Mai nessuna squadra del sud era riuscita nell'impresa di conquistare il tricolore. Il sogno dei tifosi casertani si coronò con Franco Marcelletti in panchina ed in campo i titolari Ferdinando Gentile (28 punti), Vincenzo Esposito (che assistette al resto della partita da bordo campo, dopo un grave infortunio al ginocchio rimediato in quel match), Sandro Dell’Agnello (top-scorer casertano con 30 punti), Tellis Frank (13) e Charles Shackleford (20 punti e 20 rimbalzi).
Nella stagione 1993/94 la squadra retrocesse in A2, iniziando di fatto la parabola discendente, culminata con la mancata iscrizione al campionato nel 1999.
Nell'estate del 2003 dalla fusione delle società Ellebielle e Falchetti Caserta nasce la nuova Juvecaserta Basket[. Parte così la cavalcata verso il ritorno in Serie A. La compagine allenata da Bruno Innocenti inizia il proprio percorso di risalita dalla serie B L’anno seguente è l'anno dei playoff promozione: in tutti i tre anni infatti Caserta, come negli anni ottanta si conferma l'eterna incompiuta, venendo infatti eliminata sempre a un passo dal sogno. Bisogna attendere i playoff giusti, quelli della stagione 2007/08: dopo aver superato Rimini ai quarti e Soresina in semifinale, il ritorno in paradiso avviene dopo quattro gare di finale contro l'Aurora Jesi.
Il suo secondo esordio in A1 nel 2008/09 si conclude con una sofferta salvezza, conquistata alla penultima giornata.
La stagione 2009/10 vede la Juvecaserta di nuovo ai vertici della pallacanestro italiana. Infatti la squadra chiude la stagione regolare al secondo posto lasciandosi alle spalle squadre molto più quotate. La marcia della squadra casertana, dopo un ottimo play-off, si arresta alle semifinali con la sconfitta in gara-5, dopo una serie tiratissima, con l'Olimpia Milano. Le semifinali di play-off vogliono comunque dire tanto: esse infatti permettono dopo quasi vent'anni d'assenza il ritorno in Europa, partecipando al primo turno preliminare di Eurolega.
Dopo anni senza grossi sussulti arriva l’ennesima retrocessione in A2 nel 2015, dopo avere subito anche una penalizzazione per ritardi nei versamenti contributivi.
Nell’estate dello stesso anno, complice la rinuncia della Virtus Roma, la squadra viene ripescata in A1 e affidata alla guida tecnica di Sandro Dell’Agnello, conquistando una sofferta salvezza all’ultima giornata.
Nel luglio 2017 la squadra viene tristemente esclusa dal campionato per gravi inadempienze economiche.
La storica casa della squadra casertana era il Palamaggiò, detto la Reggia del basket, costruito in cento giorni e capace di ospitare 7.000 spettatori.

In 1982/83 came a major sponsor, Indesit, and with the money the coach Bogdan Tanjevic and the Brazilian shooter Oscar Schmidt. The team finished second in the regular season and participated for the first time in the Scudetto play-offs (then the rules provided for participation in the playoffs for the first four of A2).
In 1983/84, when the club made its A1 debut, it finished eighth and obtained the playoffs again. In the same year there was the first appearance in Europe (Korac Cup) but above all it reached the final of the Italian Cup which marked the beginning of a period at high levels but which made it appear in the eyes of the fans the eternal unfinished, always in second place.
In the 1985/86 season, with the sponsor Mobilgirgi it reached the final of the Korać Cup that lost against Virtus Roma (sponsored Banco di Roma) and in the Scudetto final, defeated by Olimpia Milano sponsored Simac. The same script the following year with Franco Marcelletti on the bench against Tracer Milano. In the following season (1987/88) Juvecaserta won the first major trophy: the Italian Cup, torn from the historic team of Pallacanestro Varese.
During that year there was a change in the presidency of the club: the deceased Giovanni Maggiò took over the thirty-year-old son Gianfranco. In 1988/89, in Athens, the team was a Cup Winners' Cup finalist against Real Madrid, being beaten after an extra time in an epic clash where Oscar scored 44 points that were not enough in front of the 62 scored by Drazen Petrovic. Finalist also in Coppa Italia, lost to Virtus Bologna.
In the 1990/91 season, Juvecaserta, sponsored by Phonola, finished second in the league. After eliminating Pesaro and Virtus Bologna respectively in the quarterfinals and in the semifinals, it found Olimpia Milano sponsored Philips in the Scudetto final. Milan advanced 1-0 in the series, then Caserta hit 1-1, but Milan went 2-1 again, only to be reached 2-2. The championship was then decided at the end of race 5, played on 21 May 1991 at the Forum of Assago with the prediction in favor of the Lombards: the match ended with a score of 88-97 for Caserta, who celebrated their first championship. Never had any team from the South succeeded in conquering the Italian flag. The dream of Caserta fans was crowned with Franco Marcelletti on the bench and on the field the starters Ferdinando Gentile (28 points), Vincenzo Esposito (who attended the rest of the game from the sidelines, after a serious knee injury fixed in that match), Sandro Dell'Agnello (Caserta top scorer with 30 points), Tellis Frank (13) and Charles Shackleford (20 points and 20 rebounds).
In the 1993/94 season, the team was relegated to A2, effectively starting the downward trajectory, culminating in the failure to register for the championship in 1999.
In Summer 2003 the new Juvecaserta Basket. So starts the ride towards the return in Serie A. The team coached by Bruno Innocenti begins its path of ascent from Serie B The following year is the year of promotion playoffs: in all three years in fact Caserta, as in the eighties is confirmed the eternal unfinished, being in fact eliminated always a step away from the dream. We have to wait for the right playoffs, those of the 2007/08 season: after passing Rimini in the quarterfinals and Soresina in the semifinals, the return to heaven takes place after four final games against Aurora Jesi.
Its second debut in A1 in 2008/09 ends with a painful salvation, won on the penultimate day.
The 2009/10 season sees Juvecaserta again at the top of Italian basketball. In fact, the team closes the regular season in second place leaving behind teams much more quoted. The march of the Caserta team, after an excellent play-off, stops at the semifinals with the defeat in race-5, after a very tight series, with Olimpia Milano. The semi-finals of the play-off still mean a lot: they in fact allow after almost twenty years of absence the return to Europe, participating in the first preliminary round of Euroleague.
After years without major setbacks comes yet another relegation in A2 in 2015, after having also suffered a penalty for delays in contributions.
In the Summer of the same year, thanks to the resignation of Virtus Roma, the team was brought back to A1 and entrusted to the technical guide of Sandro Dell'Agnello, winning a painful salvation on the last day.
In July 2017 the team was sadly excluded from the championship due to serious economic failures.
The historic home of the Caserta team was the Palamaggiò, called the Reggia of basketball, built in a hundred days and able to accommodate 7.000 spectators.
