I Seoul Samsung Thunders sono nella KBL (Korean Basketball League) sin dal suo inizio .
Fondati nel 1978 come Samsung Men's Basketball Club nel 1982 cambiarono nome in Samsung Electronics Basketball Club, e, dopo il trasferimento a Suwon nel 1996, in Suwon Samsung Thunders.
Con il ritorno a Seul assunsero la denominazione attuale.
I Seoul Samsung Thunders prendono il nome dalla proprietaria Samsung Electronics e giocano alla Jamsil Arena (13.500 posti) le partite casalinghe.

Seoul Samsung Thunders have been in the KBL (Korean Basketball League) since its beginning.
Founded in 1978 as Samsung Men’s Basketball Club in 1982, they changed their name to Samsung Electronics Basketball Club, and, after moving to Suwon in 1996, to Suwon Samsung Thunders.
With the return to Seoul they assumed the current name.
The Seoul Samsung Thunders are so named as their owner is Samsung Electronics and play at the Jamsil Arena (13.500 seats) their home games.
