La società è stata fondata il 2 giugno 2022, con il nome Wolves che si riferisce al lupo di ferro e alla leggenda della fondazione della città di Vilnius.
Per iscriversi alla Lietuvos Krepsinio Lyga (LKL) il club ha acquisito la licenza del BC Dzukija, squadra della città di Alytus, a circa 100 chilometri da Vilnius, scioltasi nel 2022 dopo dieci anni di vita.
Per la sua prima stagione è stato scelto come allenatore Rimas Kurtinaitis.
A causa dell'imminente ricostruzione dell’Avia Solutions Group Arena, palazzetto dove gioca anche il Lietuvos Rytas, le partite casalinghe saranno temporaneamente giocate nell’ Alytus Arena (5.500 posti).

The club was founded on June 2, 2022, under the name Wolves which refers to the Iron Wolf and the legend of the founding of the city of Vilnius.
To join Lietuvos Krepsinio Lyga (LKL) BC Wolves acquired the license of BC Dzukija, a team from the city of Alytus, about 100 kilometers from Vilnius, dissolved in 2022 after ten years of life.
For its first season, Rimas Kurtinaitis was selected as coach.
Due to the imminent reconstruction of the Avia Solutions Group Arena, where Lietuvos Rytas also plays, the home games will be temporarily played in the Alytus Arena (5.500 seats).
