Crailsheim Merlins , per ragioni di sponsorizzazione chiamato Hakro Merlins Crailsheim , ha sede nella ciittà di Crailsheim, nella regione del Baden-Wuerttemberg.
Il club è stato fondato il 31 gennaio 1986 da un gruppo di studenti e fa parte del club polisportivo TSV Crailsheim . Fino al 1994, la squadra era attiva solo nelle leghe locali inferiori e aveva problemi a trovare un palazzetto dove giocare ma solo un anno dopo trovò una nuova casa nella caserma lasciata libera dalle forze armate americane.
Nel 2001, i Merlin sono riusciti a passare per la prima volta nella seconda divisione tedesca, ora ProA ed ha trovato un nuovo campo di gioco presso un rinnovato mercato coperto.
Nella stagione 2013/14 i Merlins sono stati promossi nella BBL e sono riusciti ad evitare la retrocessione nella prima stagione in campionato, poiché gli Artland Dragons sono stati retrocessi e il club ha ricevuto una wild card. La retrocessione è però stata inevitabile al termine della stagione successiva, terminata all’ultimo posto.
Dopo essere ritornata nel campionato principale i Merlins hanno fatto la loro prima storica apparizione nei playoff nella stagione 2020/21.
Nella stagione 2021/22, Crailsheim ha fatto il suo debutto europeo, inserita nella stagione regolare della FIBA Europe Cup e Il 13 ottobre 2021, al loro debutto europeo, i Merlins hanno registrato una vittoria in trasferta sui danesi Bakken Bears di Aarhus.
Le partite casalinghe si giocano nell'Arena Hohenlohe, che ha una capacità di 3.000 persone.

Crailsheim Merlins , for sponsorship reasons called Hakro Merlins Crailsheim, is based in the city of Crailsheim, in the region of Baden-Wuerttemberg.
The club was founded on January 31, 1986 by a group of students and is part of the sports club TSV Crailsheim. Until 1994, the team was active only in the lower local leagues and had trouble finding a venue to play but only a year later found a new home in the barracks left free by the American armed forces.
In 2001, the Merlins passed for the first time in the German second division, now ProA and found a new playing field at a renewed covered market.
In the 2013/14 season the Merlins were promoted to the BBL and managed to avoid relegation in the first season in the league, as the Artland Dragons were relegated and the club received a wild card. Their relegation was inevitable at the end of the following season, finished in last place.
After returning to the main championship, the Merlins made their first historic playoff appearance in the 2020/21 season.
In the 2021/22 season, Crailsheim made his European debut, entering the regular season of the FIBA Europe Cup and On 13 October 2021, at their European debut, the Merlins recorded a road win over the Danish Bakken Bears of Aarhus.
Home games are played in the Hohenlohe Arena, which has a capacity of 3.000 people.
