Il Maccabi Tel Aviv B.C. è la sezione di pallacanestro della società sportiva Maccabi Tel Aviv.
È una delle squadre più blasonate e prestigiose d’Europa: è infatti il terzo club europeo più vincente della storia assieme al Panathinaikos Atene e dietro al Real Madrid e al CSKA Mosca, avendo vinto sei Euroleghe, una Suproleague, una Coppa Intercontinentale e avendo disputato ben 15 finali europee.
La sezione basket fu fondata nel 1932 come parte della Polisportiva, nata nel 1906.
Nel 1954 nasce l’attuale Basketball Superleague israeliana: il Maccabi è il primo campione nazionale. Da allora i giallo-blu hanno vinto ben 50 edizioni del campionato. La serie di vittorie consecutive più lunga è durata 23 stagioni, dal 1970 al 1992, probabilmente un record mondiale.
La grandezza del Maccabi è divenuta globale con la prestigiosa vittoria, prima mai riuscita ad una squadra europea, contro una squadra professionistica americana, i Washington Bullets, allora campioni di NBA, nel 1978 (98-97 il punteggio).
Da allora il Maccabi Tel Aviv ha giocato contro undici squadre NBA, per quattordici volte, vincendo quattro incontri, l'ultima volta nel 2005 contro i Toronto Raptors (105-103). Questa partita al Air Canada Centre è la prima e unica vittoria di una squadra non americana sul suolo Nord americano.
Dal 1963 il Maccabi gioca le partite interne nello Yad Elyahu, storico palazzetto che inizialmente poteva contenere 5.000 spettatori, ampliato poi fino a 11.000 dopo le prime vittorie in Coppa Campioni e Coppa Intercontinentale.

It is one of the most prestigious and noble teams in Europe: it is in fact the third most successful European club in history together with Panathinaikos Athens and behind Real Madrid and CSKA Moscow, having won six Euroleagues, a Suproleague, an Intercontinental Cup and having reached 15 European finals.
The basketball section was founded in 1932 as part of the sports club, born in 1906.
In 1954 the current Israeli Basketball Superleague was born and Maccabi was the first national champion. Since then the yellow-blue have won 50 editions of the championship. The longest consecutive winning series lasted 23 seasons, from 1970 to 1992, probably a world record.
The greatness of Maccabi became global with the prestigious victory, never before achieved by a European team, against an American professional team, the Washington Bullets, then NBA champions, in 1978 (98-97 the score).
Since then, Maccabi Tel Aviv has played against eleven NBA teams fourteen times, winning four games, the last time in 2005 against the Toronto Raptors (105-103). This game at the Air Canada Centre is the first and only non-American team victory on North American soil.
Since 1963, Maccabi has played its home games in the Yad Elyahu, the historic arena that initially could hold 5.000 spectators, then expanded to 11.000 after the first victories in the Champions Cup and Intercontinental Cup.
