Niners Chemnitz eV , chiamato anche Chemnitz 99 ha sede a Chemnitz, in Sassonia, una delle regioni che costituivano la ex DDR.
Il club è stato formato nel 1999 come "BV Chemnitz 99" dalla fusione dei club BG Chemnitz e Lok Chemnitz .
Nell'estate del 2002 è seguita la divisione della squadra maschile (BV TU Chemnitz 99) e della squadra femminile ( Chemcats Chemnitz ).
Nel 2017, il soprannome Niners è stato ufficialmente adottato come nuovo nome del club.
Dopo una lunga permanenza nella Pro A (il secondo campionato tedesco) nella stagione 2019-20 i Niners sono stati promossi per la prima volta nella storia del club nella BBL.
Dopo avere disputato le partite casalinghe nella Richard-Hartmann-Halle (2.000 posti) nelle serie inferiori, la squadra gioca ora nella Chemnitz Arena che può ospitare 5.200 spettatori.

Niners Chemnitz ev , also called Chemnitz 99 is based in Chemnitz, Saxony, one of the regions that constituted the former DDR.
The club was formed in 1999 as "BV Chemnitz 99" by the merger of BG clubs Chemnitz and Lok Chemnitz.
In the summer of 2002 followed the division of the men’s team (BV TU Chemnitz 99) and the women’s team ( Chemcats Chemnitz ).
In 2017, the nickname Niners was officially adopted as the club’s new name.
After a long stay in Pro A (the second German league) in the 2019-20 season, the Niners were promoted for the first time in the club’s history in BBL.
After playing their home games in the Richard-Hartmann-Halle (2.000 seats) in the lower leagues, the team now plays in the Chemnitz Arena which can hold 5.200 spectators.
