Il Club Baloncesto Breogán, noto anche come Río Breogán per motivi di sponsorizzazione, ha sede a Lugo, in Galizia.
Il nome del club è un riferimento al leggendario re galiziano Breogan.
Le maglie della squadra sono sempre state celesti con dettagli nei dettagli in bianco o blu scuro. Anche i pantaloncini sono stati tradizionalmente azzurri, ad eccezione di alcuni anni che sono stati anch'essi bianchi.
Il club è stato fondato nel 1966 dai fratelli Varela-Portas ed ha giocato per la prima volta nella massima serie spagnola nel 1970. Dopo alterne fortune ed una retrocessione nella categoria inferiore la squadra è tornata nella liga ACB nel 1984, arrivando al sesto posto in questa stagione e qualificandosi per la Coppa Korac.
Dopo una decina d’anni nell’elite del basket spagnolo è retrocessa nel 1995 dopo aver perso contro Girona.
Il suo terzo ciclo nella ACB è ricominciato nel 1999 ed è durato sette anni, fino al 2006, stagione in cui è ancora una volta retrocesso nella LEB Oro, dove rimane fino al 2018.
Una stagione in Paradiso e subito l’ennesima retrocessione dopo aver vinto solo nove partite in tutto il campionato.
Nel 2021 Breogan sconfigge Granada ed è nuovamente promosso. La stagione 2021/2022 inizia con la vittoria nella Coppa di Galizia euontinua con la qualificazione alla Copa del Rey.
Le partite casalinghe sono disputate al Pazo dos Deportes che ha una capienza di 6.500 posti.

Club Baloncesto Breogán, also known as Río Breogán for sponsorship reasons, is based in Lugo, Galicia.
The club’s name is referring to the legendary Galician king Breogan.
The team’s jerseys have always been heavenly with details in white or dark blue. Shorts were also traditionally blue, except for a few years that were also white.
The club was founded in 1966 by the Varela-Portas brothers and played for the first time in the Spanish top flight in 1970. After varying fortunes and a relegation to the lower tier, the team returned to the ACB league in 1984, finishing sixth this season and qualifying for the Korac Cup.
After a decade in the Spanish basketball elite, it was relegated in 1995 after losing to Girona.
Its third cycle in the ACB restarted in 1999 and lasted seven years, until 2006, when it was once again relegated to the LEB Oro, where remained until 2018.
A season in Paradise and suffered yet another relegation after having won only nine games in the whole championship.
In 2021 Breogan defeated Granada and was promoted again. The 2021/2022 season begins with the victory in the Galician Cup and continues with the qualification to the Copa del Rey.
The home matches are played at Pazo dos Deportes which has a capacity of 6.500 seats.
