Hardcoded

"Hardcoded is a Miiverse clone with many things. Why "Hardcoded"? Tis was an idea. Signups are closed due to the clone community, but you can ask me to register you."

Hardcoded was a private Indigo-based Miiverse clone created by the user Jackster (now known as bruhdude). It was initially a Discord server known as Hiiverse, which Jackster turned into an actual clone several days later. Development for the current clone began in June of 2020, with the name being changed multiple times. The clone uses code from Indigo, and was hosted under hiiverse.ddns.net, a link that would be kept private until the site's shutdown in April of 2021.

History

Hiiverse Discord Server

Hiiverse (pronounced Hee-verse) was originally a Discord server created by Jackster on May 20, 2020, originally known as Wiiverse (no affiliation with the Weebly site) according to the FAQ channel. The Twitter account (@Hiiverse) was made on May 23, and on that day the account tweeted the link to the Discord server.

Hiiverse had a currency known as Play Coins, based on the Nintendo 3DS StreetPass currency. They could be used to purchase items from a shop created using the Discord bot UnbelievaBoat. The server also had a "Plaza+" system, where members could purchase Plaza+ memberships using play coins. The membership tiers, from lowest to highest, were: Bronze (100 coins), Silver (200 coins), Gold (300 coins, 100 with a Redeem Card), and Diamond (4000 coins, 400 with a Redeem Card).

On May 24, the day after Hiiverse was released, Jokko tweeted the screenshot above with the caption "Lmao what is this". After finding out the link, Sosig joined the server and spammed on it with multiple accounts. Sosig was eventually banned. Afterwards, the Hiiverse Twitter account deleted the tweet containing the invite, and then tweeted the message, "We are so sorry about the ping spammers, we are setting up a verification server for to keep them spammers out. Thank you." Afterwards, Jackster created a Discord server to verify users before inviting them to Hiiverse.

Later, on the same day, the handle of the Hiiverse Twitter account was changed to @fggyfgyf, with the message "no hiiverse twitter page" being repeated throughout the profile. At 9:24 PM PST, Jackster stated that he would be making Hiiverse an actual Miiverse clone. The server was taken down shortly afterwards.

Clone Development

On May 25, 2020, Jackster posted on the forum MessengerGeek stating that he was making Hiiverse into a Miiverse clone, with the screenshot above. As the user retiWin pointed out, it used Indigo source code. Jackster stated that he was attempting to fix some problems with the site, and also posted the platforms Hiiverse was working on. The list of platforms Hiiverse was working on, according to Jackster, are the Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux, PS4, Amazon Echo Show, and PS Vita.

Additionally, on August 14, Miiverse clone developer SMF9 asked Jackster on the same thread if he could assist in helping him set up Indigo, which the latter did not respond to.

Rebranding

On August 28, 2020, Jackster posted on MessengerGeek about his clone Liiverse, the successor to Hiiverse which was likely scrapped. He also stated that users could message him on Discord for the link to the site, but did not want the link to be public.

The site would be rebranded multiple times. It would be renamed to Oiiverse on September of 2020, then to MiiWorld on October of 2020. It would then be rebranded back to Hiiverse since MiiWorld was planned to be a "whole new thing". It was also apparently rebranded to Miiverse v2. The site's sign-ups were disabled, and would only be enabled if someone deemed trustworthy requested to join.

The Miiverse clone was rebranded to Hardcoded in mid March of 2021, according to the Announcement Community made earlier that month. On March 26, 2021, an alternate link to the site with a different interface, randomstuff.ddns.net, was posted by Jackster.

In April of 2021, the clone would be rebranded again to the name "Kiiverse". Later that month, it was shut down.
