Citraverse's old and new logo.
Citraverse is a Miiverse clone made by the user Augusto Villa. It has gone through multiple iterations, using Miiverse clones such as Cedar as a base. The current version of Citraverse, under augu0107.pythonanywhere.com, is based off Cedar-Django.
Citraverse was initially conceived by Augusto and another user, Josequando, in mid-2024, following the closure of Aquamarine. The Citraverse Discord server was created in July of 2024. Augusto initially planned Citraverse to be a rehost of Aquamarine, before deciding that he would create the clone from scratch. The initial version of Citraverse was released around August of 2024 under citraverse.altervista.org, and was shared on the Aquamarine Discord server. This version was built by Augusto from scratch, without using any existing Miiverse clone as a base. It was initially very basic in design, with only communities and a chatbox posting feature. Several prototypes of Citraverse were uncovered, including one known as "IFTVerse".
Citraverse apparently went down for maintenance in February of 2025.

Attention towards Citraverse after August of 2024 was minimal until Augusto posted the link to it to the Miiverse Clonapedia Discord server on August 31, 2025. After the link to Citraverse was shared, it became the subject of ridicule and criticism due to its basic design and lack of resemblance to Miiverse, and several users began spamming on the site. On September 5, 2025, Augusto redesigned Citraverse to have a proper communities page.

Criticism towards Citraverse grew as security flaws were discovered in Citraverse's files in mid-September. Some users found out that user posts and passwords were unencrypted and stored in plaintext. One user found the site's admin panel, and found out that its password was also stored in plaintext, on the admin panel's HTML page, which had been saved and uploaded to the Miiverse Clonapedia Discord server.
On September 25, 2025, Augusto, with the help of clone developer SuperDumbMario2, recreated Citraverse using Cedar as a base, under the same link. At around 3:12 PM PST, all of Citraverse's pages aside from its home page led to 404 page errors. This issue was eventually fixed as of 4 PM PST. Over the next few days, this instance of Citraverse would be subject to trolling and spam, with some users spamming pornographic images on the site. This would lead to several users getting banned.

On September 28, 2025 at around 5:43 PM PST, the user Rixy discovered a vulnerability within Citraverse that let users run any PHP script on the Citraverse server. Following this, Rixy, with the help of several other users, hacked into Citraverse and modified much of the PHP and CSS code of the website, until later when Augusto regained control of the server, where a back-to-back fight for the server's control began between Augusto and the users Rixy, zeni, and minihoot. During the day, Rixy posted the link to Citraverse's admin panel on the Miiverse Clonapedia Discord server alongside its password, allowing more users to join in editing Citraverse.

As a result of multiple users exploiting Citraverse's vulnerability, the site became heavily vandalized. Citraverse's logo was replaced with a new "67verse" logo, and the site's Communities page was plastered with memes and videos, including the Bee Movie script and the 67 meme. At some point during the hacking, the entire site was replaced with a video of the Incredible Gassy meme. Amidst the vandalization came an infamous screenshot of Augusto on Discord posting a photo of the 67 kid while asking "This is gang member?", which became an inside joke amongst those who witnessed Citraverse's hacking.
Those who witnessed the site's vandalization in real time took numerous screenshots to document it, as well as make page archives using sites like archive.today. The user Braden saved an HTML snapshot of Citraverse's communities page and hosted it on his website under bradenmaybe.heliohost.us/Citraverse%20-%20Community%20List.html.
Citraverse after getting taken down by hackers following the site's vandalization.
After several hours of being vandalized, Citraverse was taken down by the hackers at around 9 PM PST, and the site was replaced with a page stating that "67verse" was closed.
Following the incident, Rixy archived the database and the files on the server from before the hacking and hosted a "Citraverse archives" website under rixy.eu.org/citraverse. This website includes a page to download files, including backups of Augusto's server from before and after Citraverse was hacked, and multiple backups of Citraverse's SQL database. It also has a page showing screenshots taken during Citraverse's vandalization, as well as a link to this Miiverse Clonapedia page. The server backup contains Citraverse's source codes, which includes prototypes from the initial Citraverse version, as well as other development files, a school project, a YouTube clone, a prototype for a cloud platform, and other PHP code.
On October 27, 2025, nearly a month after the hacking, the user Jokko uploaded a video titled "the story of augusto villa", a slideshow compiling multiple screenshots of events spanning Citraverse's initial release up to its vandalization and shutdown. The day after the video was uploaded, Augusto told Jokko to take down the video, though he refused to do so.
In the aftermath of the hacking, Augusto banned multiple people off the Citraverse Discord server. He then moved Citraverse to an initially unknown link. On September 30, on the Miiverse Clonapedia Discord server, Augusto would post multiple fake links to Citraverse in an attempt to throw off potential trolls; these links included citracitra.altervista.org, citraverse2.altervista.org, citra2.altervista.org, and citrane.altervista.org. citraverse2.altervista.org was allegedly used for a Citraverse instance, though was apparently quickly deleted.

An instance of Citraverse was discovered under citranew.altervista.org, using Ciiverse as a base. The Cedar instance of Citraverse, however, was found to be hosted under a different link, versecitracitraversevers.altervista.org. This instance of Citraverse has since been shut down.

On October 1, 2025, Augusto once again recreated Citraverse, this time using Cedar-Django as a base, under augu0107.pythonanywhere.com. It was briefly changed into a rehost of Closedverse before reverting back to using Cedar-Django. Users need an invite key to sign up for the site, though posts and communities can be viewed without an account.
