Project Akuhao

Project Akuhao was a Miiverse clone created by MK2H using Ciiverse's source code.

History

Xiiverse's logo.

Project Akuhao was initially known as Xiiverse, which began development on May 27, 2020. It was hosted under xiiverse.akuhao.xyz with a menu stating that it was an upcoming project.

On the Miiverse Clonapedia Discord server, Gnarly offered to help with the site, attempting to trick MK2H into putting a .txt file on the site so that the site would be a page with an "Install Now" link leading to this gif. Around ten minutes in, MK2H found out and berated Gnarly for wasting time.

On May 28, Xiiverse's name was changed to Project Akuhao, and was hosted under akuhao.xyz. Due to Sosig raiding the site, MK2H implemented a Discord server for verification when signing up.

A now removed trailer for Project Akuhao was posted on May 29.

Project Akuhao page from June 5.

On June 5, Project Akuhao shut down, and for a brief moment the URL directed to a page stating that MK2H refuses "to host a site for [pedophiles, sex offenders, or people who support them]." The URL then linked to a blank home page.

Project Akuhao hacked.

On September 12, 2020, Project Akuhao was reopened. More communities were added to the clone, including an Art Community. On September 14, the site was hacked, and all of the posts on the site were deleted. On September 22, at around 9:00 PM PST, all posts were deleted again.

On November 19, 2020, Project Akuhao was "put on hold until further notice" according to MK2H. As of November 2020, the site is unavailable, and if and when it will return is unknown.
