Astleyverse

"Astleyverse is the home of Miiverse Clone and Rick Astley lovers!"

Astleyverse was a Miiverse clone created by Gab, the co-owner of the clone Rewrittenverse, on April 24, 2021, under astleyverse.loopredesocial.gq. It used source code from Rewrittenverse, which in turn used source code from MV World.

On April 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM PST, Gab shut down Astleyverse due to it gaining more activity than Rewrittenverse, which was not the purpose of the site. However, the site was brought back on 3:50 PM PST.

On May 9, 2021, Astleyverse became a private Miiverse clone, only accessible and viewable by those with existing accounts. It would also switch to dark mode.

At around 12:40 PM PST, Astleyverse shut down, only displaying the message "fuck clones". It would later be brought back up at around 1:15 PM PST.

On May 13, 2021, Astleyverse became a public Miiverse clone again, with posts and communities being viewable without an account and sign-ups being re-enabled. Viewing profiles still requires an account. The Code Of Conduct for the site was also updated that day.

Following the shutdown of Rewrittenverse on May 18, a "Rewrittenverse theme" was implemented on Astleyverse under wiki.loopredesocial.gq. Several days later, the page displayed the message "The Rewrittenverse theme for Astleyverse is no longer available. Thank you for using the theme."

As of May 22, 2021, Astleyverse was temporarily "paused" due to Gab taking a break from Miiverse clones, and is unavailable for use.

On May 24, 2021, Astleyverse was brought back from its paused state, though the domain would become inaccessible that day. On May 25, Astleyverse's domain became accessible again. On May 30, Astleyverse shut down, though it would later come back, with posting being disabled due to apparent spam.

On May 31, 2021, Astleyverse was permanently shut down. Similar to Rewrittenverse, Astleyverse displayed a thank you message for using the service. On the page, Gab stateed that he shut down Astleyverse because he did not feel comfortable hosting the site anymore.

On June 6, 2021, the site displayed a 522 Error. It later displayed a 404 error. Astleyverse's shut down page was brought back on December 20, 2021, though the clone itself was stated to not come back.
