Unreleased/Upcoming Clones

This is a list of Miiverse clones that were announced, but have not been released yet. This might be because they have been scrapped, or because they are upcoming and expecting release.

Miiverse Rewritten (Scratch Project)

(Not to be confused with Rverse, which was initially named Miiverse Rewritten)

Miiverse Rewritten is a Java-based Miiverse clone shown in a Scratch project in 2017. Its status is unknown.

On September 8, 2017, the Scratch user kuttappy705 announced in a project that he would be working with another user, bluetoad2003, on a Java recreation of Miiverse for both the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch, though they planned on shutting down the Wii U version shortly after release. The project advertised a feature known as "subcommunities". While "regular" communities were meant to be general video game communities like a Mario Universe Community, "subcommunities" were more specific and presumably part of a regular community, such as the Year of Luigi Community. kuttappy705 stated that the team was small, consisting of around three people.

CharlieVerse

Charlieverse's logo.

CharlieVerse (sometimes formatted as Charlieverse) was a cancelled website created by clone user Sad Meme and designed by Super, along with the help of other users such as The Heck????? and FlareBlitz. The site was named after the Peanuts character Charlie Brown.

The wiki of the website was created on November 5, 2017 under charlieverse.fandom.com, containing six articles and several information on the site. It has since been deleted.

On January 28, 2018, Sad Meme announced on the Cedar community for CharlieVerse that "the charlieverse project has been halted until further notice".

On February 26, 2018, he announced that a new clone known as "Xiiverse" would be coming out in the summer of 2018, though no other info was given about the site, so it was likely scrapped.

The service was eventually renamed to utendo, which has its own website under utendo.me as well as a Twitter account (@utendo_). The site has four projects on its web page: a tool used for running exploits and the homebrew channel using the Wii U browser, a (currently unavailable) tool known as GrabMii which is used to get Mii info based on an NNID, a planned Wii Shop revival known as ushop, and a planned Miiverse clone known as uverse.

PF3M stated that Serbs and LGBT+ people would not be allowed to join the site.

Weeverse

(Not to be confused with Wiiverse.)

"A brand new social network "Weeverse"! This is not just a clone of "Miiverse" but a completely refreshed project!

Unlike other competitors, our team plans to make the network more functional than everyone else. We want to integrate most of the supported games with our project.

In "Weeverse" you can still communicate in the Communities, but in a new style. You will no longer be limited to one topic."

Weeverse's logo.

Weeverse is a currently closed project created by a group of users and owned by the user GoldAnd, which is planned for Wii U, 3DS, and web browser. Development began in August of 2020, and a Twitter account for Weeverse (@WeeverseC) was created during that time period, but was since suspended. Alongside GoldAnd is the user Purplemint, who is a moderator for the site.

Weeverse was originally a group on the European social networking site VK. It also had a Discord server. Both of these have since been deleted. Alpha and beta versions of Weeverse were made on the 3DS.

Wiiverse has a website under the URL aipuch07.wixsite.com/weeverse. The website has a tutorial on how to install Weeverse as well as a page listing the moderators of the site, GoldAnd and Purplemint.

On December 14, 2020, GoldAnd wrote an article for Weeverse on Miiversepedia, notably in Russian. According to the article, the creators of Weeverse planned the clone to "not be just a clone of Miiverse, but [be] a completely new social network with unusual functionality."

Weeverse development was closed for initially unknown reasons. On January 16, 2021, GoldAnd announced that development for Weeverse has resumed. He also claimed that the reason for the initial close of development was due to fears that the clone would violate Nintendo's copyright policies, but after learning that it would not violate those policies, the project was resumed.

JDOSVerse is an upcoming project made by JDOS. The JDOSVerse Twitter account (@mlpandpawpatrol) was made in June of 2020, but it was rebranded as JDOSVerse on December 3. JDOSVerse also has a dedicated Discord server made on November 30, 2020. Not much else is known about it. The Discord server was eventually deleted in early 2021 due to lack of activity.

Nodevxrse

Nodevxrse is a discontinued Miiverse clone developed by the users Murilo, SMF9, and Rix. Development began in early May of 2021. The project was discontinued; according to the GitHub page, the "project is 'archived' because DaKux left the team and it's too much work for Rix to do this alone."

Yiiverse

Yiiverse is a planned Miiverse clone by rat_king120, who posted the logo to Juice on June 4, 2021. When asked if he was making a Miiverse clone, rat_king120 responded, "i tried, but it was too hard and i did not know how to do it", implying that any development for Yiiverse had been discontinued.

On June 23, Rix shared a screenshot of Rixyverse, as well as a form to register for a beta of it. On January 26, 2022, Rixyverse's repository was open-sourced and Rixyverse was shut down "due to inactivity & codebase being cringe". Another host of Rixyverse was made under rv.qck.ar.nf in May of 2022. It has since shut down.

Due to Oldverse, Rixyverse is mostly abandoned.

Dirtverse

Screenshot of Dirtverse.

Dirtverse is an upcoming Miiverse clone, first revealed on Twitter with an account dedicated to it (@DirtverseClone) on July 24, 2022. Its first tweet states that the developers have learned the "mistakes" that were made in previous Miiverse clones, "specifically mistakes regarding who was allowed on the site". It appears to be based off of Indigo.

Dirtverse was initially scheduled for release on August 1, 2022, but the release was delayed to August 7, 2022. According to the Twitter account, this was "due to certain people finding out about the site sooner than expected", which prompted the developers to take more time to improve the site's spam detection system. Despite the account stating the site would be released on August 7, it was not released when that date came. On August 8, the Twitter account made an announcement that the site's release was delayed further due to the dev team being busy with "more important projects". The account assured that the clone would be released eventually.
