Caustica

Caustica was a Miiverse clone developed by Mintphin. Additional contributors to the clone include Arian, Seth, Ashley, Jo, and Nyargle. Work on the clone can be traced back as early as April 25, 2019, and it was likely released in August of 2019 according to its GitHub page. It was made in PHP and based on Cedar. Despite using code from Cedar, Caustica was a subdomain of Uiiverse under caustica.uiiverse.xyz, and its code has been posted by the Uiiverse GitHub page. Caustica's code was meant to be used for what was planned to be Uiiverse 2.0, a plan to rewrite Uiiverse code from scratch to fix the issues it had. The codebase for Caustica was eventually scrapped, and the Uiiverse team decided on working with what they already had.

As there are no known archives of any Caustica page, not much is known about what happened on the clone. Caustica has since shut down, either on its own or alongside Uiiverse when it shut down in July of 2020.

Caustica+/Leaper

Caustica+ is a rehost of Caustica owned by SourMints that was released on June 17, 2022 under caustica.isledelfino.net. It has background music for the home page and user pages, the former of which changes each month. It also gives users the ability to create communities, while also incorporating several UI themes from the original Caustica.

CloneMii, Miiverse, and Indigo theme on Leaper.

On July 21, 2022, Caustica+ was rebranded to Leaper, with its community banner images being changed to reflect this. SourMints also developed a Miiverse, CloneMii, and Indigo theme for the site.

As of 2023, Leaper's UI was changed, featuring a new logo and background.
