Safety - crime related

Finding information on crime incidents or crime hotspots on the mountains has been difficult. The information is scattered or hidden on private WhatsApp groups. Andre, an ASIS Certified Protection Professional has done outstanding work collating this information from multiple sources and publishing an on-line Google Map which is updated regularly.

Icons represent the closest likely point to the actual attack. Each attack is referenced. When possible I aim to add more than one source to confirm. This is quite difficult as you can imagine given the lack of reporting from SAPS/circular reporting.

Red icon: Actual or indication of physical violence.
Blue icon: Non physical incident.
