Key recent changes:
Dec 2025 A new route! Separation Buttress SW Diagonal. A grade 5 ****, so a worthy addition
Dec 2025 Links to All Trails are being removed because all access requires a paid subscription and we don't want to promote or endorse their product, especially as their quality was variable - or downright dangerous.
Aug 2025 tinyurl/Mountain-meanders was added as an alias. The cost of maintaining the custom domain name Mountain-Meanders.com has been increasing steadily (it was free initially). The cost was falling on one individual and while not large, it has the risk that if not paid, the domain will be suddenly cut off. It's better to wean ourselves over a period. As the domain has recently been renewed, the cut off will probably be in Aug 2026.
Jan 2025 New route: Noordhoek Peak Gully
4 Dec 2024 Disa Gorge 3rd Ridge. The first new route for a long time. Thank you. keep them coming...
Nov 2024 All the "back office" files which underpin the slideshows were moved to the Mountain Meanders Google Drive to make it easier and safer to maintain the site in future. While the site has been extensively tested, this cleanup may possibly have broken some links, so if anything is missing or broken, please report it to the Webmaster
Sept 2024 A welcome to Johan Fourie who has joined the MM editing team
Links to a relevant Open Source Map have been added to nearly all pages. This is a great resource. Try it! See the OSM Maps page for some tips.
A change record has been added so that it is easy to see what has been added or changed. It is at Change Record
Please report any missing information, pages that don't display well, or broken links, to the Webmaster
Note: SAN Parks periodically close popular routes on Table Mt and in country areas. Best to inquire from SAN Parks whether the route you propose doing is open.
Navigation: Expand the menu on the left to any desired level, or use Search if looking for a specific route - or person. (The search icon is on the top right.) Or see the Introduction for more options.
