Groton, Ma - So Matt Tornaritis scored once in the 1st half and twice in the 2nd half to lead the Crusaders of Groton Dunstable to a 6-2 win over Marlboro in Boys soccer. GD got on board early when Nate Pomeroy broke in alone and beat three Panthers for the simple finish. Matt Tornaritis made it 2-0 eight minutes later when Pomeroy sent him in alone from great 1-2 feed. Marlboro responded minutes later when Armondo Canela send a ball into the back post and Marcello Cunha finished with his head 2-1. Four minutes into the 2nd stanza Gabriel Gomes Perreira finished on a header from a great ball from Marcello Cunha and things were even at 2-2. Ten minutes later GD responded with four goals in the next 12 minutes with goals from Tornaritis (2), Dan McGuiness and a 2nd from Nate Pomeroy to seal the deal. GD received great play from Mike Keating, Paolo Filho, Alex Murphy and Tim Hilbrunner. Groton Dunstable improve to 5-0 in Midland B League Play and 7-2-1 overall. Marlboro fall to 1-1-1 in Midland B League play at 5-2-2 overall. GD travel to Rival Bromfield on Saturday for a 3:30pm kickoff.
