Groton, Ma - Sr Brendan Davis assisted on the first goal and scored the 2nd for Dracut (11-5) as the Middles beat the Crusaders 2-1 Wednesday in the season finale for both teams. Jacob Freitas open the scoring in the 2nd minute when he shot the ball with his left foot from a ball coming across penalty spot over the shoulder of Crusader Keeper Cole Connerty. Davis added the 2nd in the 32nd minute getting in alone and sliding it into the far post, 2-0 at the half. The Crusaders marched back out shooting the Middles 6-2 in the 2nd stanza , getting rewarded a penalty after Matt Fordham was taken down in the box to draw things to 2-1. GD gave a great last effort but couldn't equalize. Dracut improves to 12-6 and GD finishes the regular season at 10-6-2. District Draw is Nov 1st.
