Groton, Ma - Sr. Forward Simon Chandler and Jr. Midfielder Matt Fordham both scored a pair of goals Monday afternoon to lead the #8 Seeded Crusaders (10-6-2) of Groton Dunstable to 4-1 victory over the #9 Warriors on Tantasqua (13-5). Chandler opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Fordham crossed a ball across the six box for the outstretched tap in, 1-0. Matt Fordham made it 2-0 twelve minutes into the 2nd stanza when he broke in past two warrior defenders and slid it past the warrior net minder. Chandler added a 3rd goal four minutes later beating the keeper to the near post. Tantasqua got a goal back in the 65th minute on a back door tap in but GD Matt Fordham converted from the spot in the last two minutes and GD will move on. Tantasqua ended their season with a 13-6 mark while GD improve to 11-6-2 overall and will travel to Shrewsbury on Wednesday to face #1 Seeded St. John's (14-1-3) at 4pm in District quarter-finals and a chance to advance to the district semi's. GD received great play from senior back line of Ian Maguire, derek Caruso and Chase Herberich and Leo Chavez Lanzano and Manchamo Drislane in the midfield.
