Groton, Ma - Westboro Jr. Jeremy James scored goals in both stanzas to lead the Rangers of Westboro to a 4-3 win in Midland B League play. James got on the board early with a great strike that beat Crusader Keeper Alex Newman 1-0. Westboro added a second before the midway point and took the lead into the break 2-0. GD's Chase Herberich turned on a great feed and struck a left footed curve ball that found the back of the net 2-1. Westboro's Icaro Vieira added his second goal in the 63rd minute from the end line 3-1. The Crusaders were awared a Penalty kick when So. David Alvarez was taken down in the box. Matt Fordham converted the penalty kick 3-2. Ten minutes from the end James broke in alone from a great feed from Jake Hughs to make it 4-2. GD scored again in the 75th minute when So. Matt Fordham converted a free kick into the top far corner 4-3. GD pressed with a corner kick and several long throws into the box but Westboro held on for the win. Westboro improve to (3-4-1) overall and (2-1) in league play and face Nipmuc 10/5. GD fall to (2-3-3) overall and (1-2-1) in league play and travel to Maynard 10/6 for a 7pm kickoff with the Tigers!
