GDRHS, Groton Ma- Sr. Chris McKinney, Sr. Alex Merlino and Jr. Nate Pomeroy each scored a pair of goals as the Crusaders paste the Hudson Hawks 7-1 in Mid Wach B league play. GD opened the scoring in the 7th minute of play when Pomeroy broke in from a Mike Keating Pass. Then Sr. Chris Mckinney added a second on a ball sent in long from Jr. back Eric Stone. GD make a mistake in the back and Hudson’s Tom Orsatti gets in alone and chips the ball past net minder Connor Mcguire to draw the Hawks back to 2-1. But finishes from Pomeroy and Merlino before halftime made it 4-1. Sr. Chris MCkinney and Alex Merlino both scored on great feed passes from Kyle Romich in the first 2:17 of the second stanza and the score 6-1. Sr. Kyle Romich finalized the scoring on a simple finish in front of goal as Jr. Back Adam Kmetz won the ball, got to end line and sent in a great ball to Romich. GD received great play from Jr. Paolo Filho, Sr. Ben Chilcoat, Jr. Mike Keating and So. Keeper Connor Macguire. GD improve to 3-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in League play. GD travel to Blackstone – Millville on Sa turday for an important Division 2 matchup at 11am. Hudson Fall to 1-2-0 overall.
