Crusaders Blank Chieftains 4-1 in Boys Soccer

Groton, MA - Jr. Matt Fordham scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Crusaders to a 4-1 Mid Wach B league victory over the Chieftains of Nashoba Regional. Nick Cudmore got Nashoba on the board early in the 8th minute when he poked home a scramble in front of the Crusader goal. Chase Herberich drew things even in the 20th minute on a great feed from Fordham. Fordham gave the lead to the Crusaders for good on a header from a feed from Senior defender Ian Maguire 2-1. Supersub Eugenio Riveria knocked home a scap ball in front of goal from a Fordham corner kick for the 3-1 into the break. Fordham added an insurance goal in the 53rd minute punching home a shot from around the penalty spot area for the 4-1 lead. Nashoba Drop to 3-2-2 overall and 2-1-1 in Mid Wach B league play. GD improve to 6-0-2 overall and 4-0 in Mid Wach B league play. GD host Tyngsborough (5-2-1) Saturday at 10am.
