Groton, Ma - Sr Alex Murphy scored two goals in both half's including the game winner in assisting the Crusaders to a 4-1 victory over the Panther of Quabbin Regional. Doug Rosa added a goal and a assist while Dan McGuinness and Morgan Manthous also added assists. GD finished the Midland B league play with an undefeated 9-0-1 record and also improve to 12-2-4 overall. The Crusaders started the season 1-2-1 and have played undefeated soccer since 9-14-12 going 11-0-3 over the last 14 games. GD received great play from Sr Mike Keating, Sr Ben Lutz, Sr Adam Kmetz and Sr Eric Stone. Today was the last regular season home game for this group of seniors who have tallied a 44-8-10 mark over the last three seasons. Quabbin Region drop to 3-6-1 in Midland B and 4-10-3 overall. GD will now sit and wait for the Central Mass District Tournament draw to come out next Wednesday.
