Groton, Ma - Jr Matt Fordham scored in the first minute on a direct kick and added a penalty kick in the 2nd stanza to lift the Crusaders to a 4-0 blanking of local rival North Middlesex. Sr. Forward Simon Chandler broke in between two NM defenders only to be tripped outside the box where Matt Fordham converted on a direct shot that beat NM keeper Jordan Meas 1-0. Leo Chavez put the Crusaders up 2-0 minutes later when he broke in from the right side and shot it into the far post 2-0. Simon Chandler broke in alone before the half and slid it in the near post. Chandler was tripped in the box just 5 minutes into the 2nd stanza and Fordham converted from the spot. NM fall to 5-6-1 overall and 0-5 in Mid wach B League play. GD improve to 9-1-2 overall and 5-1 in League play. GD received great play from Kepper Cole Connerty (4th Shutout of the fall) Derek Caruso, Zach Elmasri and Leo Chavez. #6 GD travel to #4 Wachusett on Tuesday 10/15 to take on the Mountaineers.
