Game Summary: Nice to start the season out with a win. Experimenting a lot to see who plays
hard and smart. Very messy game but that was to be expected. First touches need work. The
majority of the team is new with 2 returners to the JV squad from last season. Some players
swang down from varsity. This will be a very competitive team that will grow as the season
progresses. There is some talent and drive in this group.

Westford: 9/9 1-3 Loss Boggiano
Game Summary: Westford jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game on
defensive breakdowns from GD. The second half was pretty even play with outstanding effort
and grit from Kevin Connerty, Matt Naughton, and Joey Zinkann.

Marlborough 9/16 4-1 Win Hardy/Boggiano
Game Summary: Dan Flynn scored in the first minute of the game but Marlborough hung in
there and managed to get to a 1-1 Tie going into the second half. The boys picked it up a notch
and scored 3 unanswered goals and outplayed Marlborough technically and physically. GD had
many opportunities to score but many shots were off frame. No varsity drop downs meant more
playing time for all. Played a few different alignments today and boys were receptive and
worked hard throughout the game.

Westborough 9/18 0-4 Loss Werner/Boggiano
Game Summary: Night game played out in Westborough on the turf! The game was fast,
competitive and rough. Westborough scored just before the end of the 1st
Westborough went up 2-0 on a through ball down the middle that keeper Nick Boggiano could
not reach. The final 2 goals were late and messy as GD’s play was visibly down in the later part
of the 2nd
half. Closer game than the score reveals.

North Middlesex 9/23 5-0 Win Hardy/Boggiano/Naughton
Game Summary: GD got off to a slow start with the game still notched at 0-0 at half time. Dan
Flynn fed Aidan Huff for the first goal of the game 11 minutes into the second half. The boys
picked it up a notch and scored 4 more unanswered goals in the next 10 minutes and outplayed
North Middlesex physically, tactically and technically. Dan Flynn led the way for GD!

Game Summary: We are much bigger than them and used it to our advantage most of the
game. We need to improve our first touch. Too many unforced turnovers. Ian Peterson and
Nate Martinez dropped down and helped us out today.

Andy Karasevich and Nate Martinez also were key for GD.

Game Summary: Small field made for a game where we did not possess well under pressure.
We had plenty of opportunities to score but didn’t cash in. Joe Zinkann continues to play well.

Game Summary: Nice to be back at home! We have really hit our stride. Dracut was a bit
passive and GD came ready to play after a disappointing tie on Thursday. Jason Pang once
again set the tone for us scoring 2 goals and assisting 2 others. Nate Martinez’s play was also
impressive.
