Westborough, MA - So. David Alvarez took a shot from 35 yards away that deflected off the foot of a Ranger defender and sailed over the Westboro keeper for the game winner with just under three minutes remaining. Jake Hughes opened the scoring in the 5th minute when he broke past a Crusader defender and slipped it past Crusader Keeper Alex Newman. GD held on throughout the match with several key saves by Newman and with just under 12 minute remaining Simon Chandler fought for a ball and broke in with pressure but was able to knock it past John Apour to even things up at 1-1. Alvarez late tally was his 10th goal of the season. Westboro drop to 10-5-2 overall and 6-2 in Midland B league play and host Leominister Tue at 4pm. GD improve to 6-6-5 overall and finish 4-3-1 in Midland B league play, good enough for 3rd place. GD received great play from Zac ElMasri, Ian Maguire, Derek Caruso and Simon Chandler.

GD host #1 Wachusett Regional 14-1-2 in final game of the regular season Tuesday at 4pm. GD need a win or draw to advance to Div 1 CMASS district playoffs. Go Crusaders
