10/19/13 - Groton, MA - Bromfield School's Andrew Collinan's goal 12 minutes into the second stanza proved to be the difference on Saturday nights local darby. It was a very even event throughout most of the match with both keepers making some great saves. In the 45th minute the Crusaders almost went ahead when returning Jr. Matt Tornaritis hit the cross bar but the ball failed to cross the goal line. Then in the 52nd minute Collinan stole a poor clearance from a GD defender and passed to Ben Veno who passed it back to Collinan who shot the ball which somehow hit two GD defenders and sailed over the head of GD keeper Connor Mcguire and into the far top corner for the 1-0 lead. The Crusaders pressed for the equalizer late but was unable to convert. Bromfield improve to 14-1 overall while GD drop to 7-6-2. GD received great play from Tyler Belanger, Ryan Hardy and Connor Mcguire. GD host Westford Academy on Saturday 10/26 at 11am for Senior day and then will wait to see the Div 1 Central Mass District draw.
