Barre, Ma - Sr Nate Pomeroy scored three goals and added two assists in about a 20 minute span of the first half to lead the Crusaders to a 5-1 victory over Host Quabbin Regional. GD got on board in the 11th minute when Pomeroy sent a cross in to Sr. Alex Murphy who headed it over Panther Keeper Jake Lapearle for the 1-0 lead. Less than a minute later Nate Pomeroy received a poorly cleared ball from 25 yards away and he blasted into the upper right corner of the net to make it 2-0. Three minutes later Sr. Morgan Manthous put a great ball into Pomeroy who beat a player and blasted it into the lower far post with his left foot. Over the next 12 minutes both Nate Pomeroy and So. Matt Tornaritis found each other for simple finishes and the Crusaders were up 5-0 at the break. Quabbin started the 2nd stanza receiving an early penalty kick that was converted by Leland Crowther to make it 5-1. GD controlled play through the 2nd half but were unable to score. The Crusaders had 23 player see action in today's contest and received great play from Dan McGuiness, Tim Hilbrunner and Ben Lutz. GD improves to 3-0 in Midland B League play and improves to 5-2-1 overall. Quabbin drop to 1-2 in League play and 2-6-1 overall. GD host Hudson next Tuesday.
