Anthropomorphism and its Discontents

anthropomorphism and its discontents; from shamanism , iconoclasm to secularism and the new puritanism

I guess my point is this. Is it so wrong to anthropomorphise nature when we are simply a product of nature that is not so different from the rest of the junk. Is it so wrong to see ourselves reflected in everything around us. We are in the universe and the universe is in us and who knows how strangely that connection may operate. I get a little sidetracked into ontological polemics sometimes but in a nutshell that is my point. What you call that is up to you but I refute the absolute moral authority that states that such views are irrational and must be opposed. Fine I guess you have a right...Seems a mighty waste of your life when you could be daydreaming, picking flowers or singing...
