Those who want to practice their calligraphy this week have a phrase to work on. Susuki to nadeshiko (pampas grass and pink) is mostly written in kanji. The to (and) between susuki (Japanese pampas grass) and nadeshiki (pink) is written in hiragana. The passage is read top down starting with the right-hand column, then moving to the left-hand column.
