This week's word for those who want to practice their calligraphy is taki (waterfall) written in kanji.

Here is a relatively simple waterfall sketch for practice.

Demonstration Painting

In the painting, falling water is represented by the absence of ink. Instruction 4 in the guidance calls for tapping a brush loaded with half-and-half onto another brush. The purpose is to apply spatters of half-and-half to the paper. When painting rocks over those areas in the following step, ink will not adhere to the spatters, creating the impression of water sprays. and mist. Gansai (white ink) can be used instead of half-and-half.
