Boat Maintenance

Badge Requirements 

1. (SM-01) Name 10 different parts of a vessel.

2. (SM-02) Understand and explain the following aspect of boat/ship maintenance

• Dry-docking

• Hull cleaning / Cathodic protection / Anti-fouling

3. (SM-03) Explain the advantage and disadvantage of hull material, choose two from the following:

• Wood

• Aluminium

• Steel

4. (SM-04) Alternatively, participate in the maintenance of an active working boat or ship approved by your Sea Scout Leader.
