The Uniformed Group Badge Programme is a joint programme between the National Environment Agency (NEA), Girl Guides Singapore (GGS) and the Singapore Scout Association (SSA). It aims to encourage outreach efforts on environmental issues by the Uniformed Group (UG) community. The programme comprises of two environmental tracks: Keep Singapore Clean (KSC) and/or Resource Conservation (RC).
UG students participating in the programme will be able to attain a badge upon fulfilment of the programme requirements.
The topics covered under the Keep Singapore Clean track includes:
Dengue Prevention
Public Hygiene and Cleanliness (Anti-Littering, Clean Toilets, Clean Tables)
Participants of the programme are required to select 1 environmental track with a chosen topic and complete an activity in Part A and Part B, with each activity achieving a specific objective:
PART A - Promote the Environmental Topic
Share key messages of the topic with schoolmates or the community.
PART B - Practise the Environmental Steps
Conduct activities to practise and reiterate the key messages of the topic.
A suggested list of activities is appended below for reference. The listed activities are not exhaustive, and you may come up with other relevant and suitable activities for your students.
Topic: Dengue Prevention
Part A:
Create/Design a Mascot for dengue prevention (e.g. mosquito mascot or the B-L-O-C-K steps)
Design outreach materials (e.g. e-posters, videos, wall murals) on dengue prevention messages.
Share dengue prevention messages during CCA/assemblies/classes. Learning materials such as videos, e-activity booklets, and resource packs could be used to engage the students.
Create a Learning Corner to teach schoolmates on dengue prevention.
Conduct community visits to teach residents on the dengue prevention steps.
Part B:
Perform checks in the school compound and notify teachers on the potential mosquito breeding sites.
Conduct mozzie wipeout steps at home and complete a checklist on the dengue prevention steps.
Topic: Public Cleanliness & Hygiene
Part A:
Design outreach materials (e.g. e-posters, videos, wall murals) on anti-littering, personal and public hygiene, keeping our dining spaces clean and returning our trays and crockeries after use.
Share anti-littering messages during CCA/assemblies/classes. Learning materials such as videos, e-activity booklets, and resource packs could be used to engage the students.
Create a Learning Corner to teach schoolmates on keeping the environment clean (e.g. hold on to our litter until the next available bin, be responsible and return trays and crockeries after dining and keep the tables clean, keep our public toilets dry and clean).
Part B:
Conduct Plogging, i.e. Jog and Pick up Litter.
Perform litter-picking activities in the school compound or in the neighbourhood
Maintain overall cleanliness of the canteen in school.
At the end of the programme, Leaders are to download the Submission Report Template below and fill it in accordingly before sending their Unit's Submission Report here.
Leaders will be informed via email once the badges are ready for collection.

Schools are strongly encouraged to share photos of your students completing the activities by posting them on your school’s social media pages/ bulletin/ newsletter to
motivate others to conduct clean and green activities. In your post(s), please hashtag #UGCleanandGreen and tag NEA at @CGSingapore on Facebook and @cleanandgreensg on Instagram.
Note: Teachers are required to seek any necessary permission from the school and parents prior to uploading of students’ photos to any online platforms.
Alternatively, schools may choose to showcase students’ efforts through internal school channels such as school’s intranet or other internal portals.
