Criteria (Estimated Completion Time - 6 Months)
World Scout Badge
1. Attain the World Scout Badge.
You should know:
(a) A brief history of the scouting movement, including who founded the movement.
(b) A background of your Scout Unit, including your Group Scout Leader, Scout Leaders, and Patrol Leaders.
(c) The Scout Promise.
(d) The Scout Law.
(e) The different parts of a Scout Uniform.
(f) What to do during your investiture.
Venture Scouts who have attained the World Scout Badge when they were a Cub Scout or Scout are exempted but are highly encouraged to share their experiences with their peers.
2. Investiture
Be invested into your Unit.
Citizenship and Global Awareness
1. Participation in Citizenship and Global Awareness
Complete ONE of the following:
(a) Participate in an International Exchange Activity. Discuss your experience from the activity with your patrol. Include in your discussion how you appreciated the differences in culture. Record your discussion in your Journal.
(b) Hold at least ONE of the following Pursuit Badges: Conservator, World Friendship, Climate Action Ambassador Badge (CAAB).
(c) Hold at least ONE of the following National Campaign Badges: Crime Prevention Badge for Venture Scouts.
(d) Act as a National Educational / Total Defence ambassador.
Note: Venture Scouts who have completed the Global Awareness activity at the Voyager Award under the Scout Progress Badge Scheme are exempted.
Leadership and Interest
1. Attend a Venturing Foundation Course.
By the end of the course, you should:
(a) Understand the Patrol System and experience leading a patrol.
(b) Plan and lead your patrol in a Scouting activity.
(c) Be able to conduct risk assessment for activities.
(d) Reflect on how the Scout Promise and Law inspires and guides you in your daily life.
Venture Scouts who have been in the Scout Section should take effort to interpret the Scout Promise and Law in a deeper way.)
This is a mandatory course for all Venture Scouts
2. Pursuing Interests I
Attain a new pursuit badge of your choice. Discuss with your Venture Scout Leader prior to making your choice.
Adventure and Outdoor
1. Camping
Participate in a TWO days ONE night Camp.
Venture Scouts who have completed the Core Scouting Activity (Camping) at Discoverer or Explorer under the Scout Progress Badge Scheme are exempted.
2. Outdoor Exploration / Expedition
Use a map and compass to plan and execute an exploration hike/expedition of at least 15 km.
Venture Scouts who have completed the Core Scouting Activity (Outdoor Exploration / Expedition) at Explorer Award under the Scout Progress Badge Scheme are exempted.
3. Pioneering
Participate in a pioneering activity.
Venture Scouts who have completed the Core Scouting Activity (Pioneering) at Discoverer or Explorer Award under the Scout Progress Badge Scheme are exempted.
4. Outdoor Cooking
Participate in a cooking session in an outdoor setting.
Venture Scouts who have completed the Core Scouting Activity (Outdoor Cooking) at Discoverer or Explorer Award under the Scout Progress Badge Scheme are exempted.
Sports and Physical Recreation
1. Sporting Event I
Train and participate in a Sporting Event. Discuss with your Venture Scout Leader and set a goal to achieve. Examples include, but are not limited to, Sports Day, Half-Marathon, Cycling Expedition.
Inspirations, Beliefs and Attitudes
1. My Beliefs
Share with your Patrol your beliefs and practices in your religion (choose any religion to research into if you do not have one).
Venture Scouts who have completed Beliefs at Discoverer Award under the Revised Scout Progress Scheme are exempted.
At the end of Venture Badge, Unit Leaders should assess that Young Persons should have made progress towards achieving some of the following educational outcomes, prior to awarding the badge.

Shows an interest in expanding his/her knowledge of things going on around him/her.

Expresses in different ways what he/she lives, thinks and feels, in the Patrol Book.

Participates with his/her patrol in time of reflection aimed at finding out and expressing the spiritual meaning of their experience.
