The Rover Scout Programme, also known as the Rover Journey aims to provide a fun and meaningful experience by guiding Rovers in their transition to adulthood, through concepts based on the handbook by Lord Baden Powell, "Rovering to Success".
Although written in a different era, many of the concepts broached by B.P. are still relevant to young adults today.
Rover Scout Activities are organised and planned by Rovers for Rovers as part of a youth-led programme.
They mainly consist of the following themes: Adventure, Fellowship, Service.
The focus of the Rover Journey is on encouraging Rovers to participate and be actively involved in Rovering.
The Rover Journey, targeted at youths aged 18 to 26 years old, aims to help Scouts in their transition from adolescence to adulthood and to further the mission of The Singapore Scout Association which aims to help youths discover, learn and put into practice essential life skills through serving others and learning by doing via a non-formal and values-based educational programme to support the development of young people to become responsible and active citizens.
The Rover Journey is made of four Rover Milestones which provide Rovers with a non-exhaustive repertoire of activities they can do as a Rover and a young adult:
Rover Badge - Rovering Fundamentals
Pathfinder Award - Personal Development and Challenge
Chief Scout Award (Rover) - Sectional Top Award
President's Scout Award (Rover) - Association Top Award
