Complete ALL the following activities:
1) Demonstrate how information can be downloaded, saved and edited.
2) Send an email to a parent, guardian, grandparent or adult mentor, thanking them for the good things they have done in your life.
3) Create a Word document and keep a ‘Good Turns’ diary with a list of good turns you accomplish over a period of 7 days. Save it, print it and paste it in your journal, or copy it to your e-journal. Share it with your Akela or your Six.
4) Using a simple table, show how it is possible to enter, save and retrieve names and contact numbers of your relatives or members of your Six.
Silver
1) Using a commonly available software, complete TWO of the following activities:
Create an A4 newsletter or blog update for your Cub Scout Pack or area. Include graphics and photographs covering a recent Cub Scout event that you attended.
Design a poster advertising an upcoming Cub Scout event. Use both text and graphics and make it eye catching so it will be attractive to your audience.
Draw a map layout of your own community, showing local services, such as police station, doctor's surgery, shops, Scout Headquarters and so on.
Show the examiner some of the programme applications (apps) you have used recently and state which you enjoy using the most and why.
Write a simple tune using a programme that can play it back to you. Show that you can modify the tune in a few different ways. Share it with your Akela and Scout friends.
2) Complete TWO of the following activities:
Find out what copyright law is for and how you think it might apply to online information.
Explain how sharing links with other people can lead to the spread of viruses, causing permanent damage to your device. How can anti-virus software prevent this?
Describe the dangers you might encounter in the online world, and how to keep yourself safe.
